La Femme Nikita. This is a classic that some may have forgotten when thinking of Luc Besson. Eagle.

So looking back in this thread, in November, I thought La La Land might have the potential to be a hit and also said a couple is going to recreate A Lovely Night at the same spot in Griffith Park. I give you:

Rewatched Moneyball recently. Eagle. I love this movie. I realize it's not clear whether moneyball propelled the A's to that amazing season, but a great movie nonetheless and regardless, moneyball has had an undeniable effect on sports in general.

John Wick - Birdie

I enjoyed this movie a lot. I thought Keanu Reeves did a great job with his character of John Wick. I am looking forward to seeing John Wick 2.

Lo and Behold. Birdie. Good Herzog documentary on a variety of aspects of the internet and technology. It's on US Netflix.

Been a while since posting:

Arsenal - Another random B action movie.  Par

Fantastic Four (2015) - Not great, not terrible...  Par

Flock of Dudes - Hangover wannabe except less funny (and Hangover wasn't very funny imo).  Bogey

In Time - Makes an interesting philosophical point but cheesy B movie feel.  Par (barely)

Jack Reacher 2 - Felt like a corny made for TV movie.  Par

Keeping Up With The Joneses - Not bad but easily forgettable.  Par

Matchstick Men - Also not great and also not bad.  Par

Pirates of the Caribbean 1 - Kiddie movie and a little on the boring side.  Par

Pirates of the Caribbean 2 - Repeat of 1.  Par

Pirates of the Caribbean 3 - Repeat of 2.  Par

Pirates of the Caribbean 4 - Repeat of 3.  Par

Priest - Vampires and stuff.  Par

Repo Men - Movie wasn't nearly good enough to be as disgusting as it was.  Bogey

Sneakers - Old now and predictable, not bad though.  Par

Solomon Kane - High fantasy B action stuff.  Par

Star Trek (2009) - Better than I thought it would be.  Par

Star Trek: Into Darkness - Same as above.  Par

Star Trek: Beyond - Same as above.  Par

Street Kings - Not sure how I missed this; solid action.  Par

The Accountant - Surprised me.  Birdie.

The Grey - Dumbest ending I've seen in quite some time ruined what should have been a decent movie.  Bogey

The Gunman - Forgettable action thing.  Par

The Hunter - Forgettable drama/thriller thing.  Par

Underworld: Blood Wars - More monsters and ass kicking!  Birdie

Unknown - Solid action/thriller.  Par

War On Everyone - Not as bad as I was expecting but definitely not great.  Par

Wild Target - Started off alright and basically died a slow death.  Bogey

Arrival - Par. Good acting but the story was a bit slow in developing.

Manchester by the Sea, Hidden Figures, 20th Century Women - birdie

Thought Manchester's ending was going to go one way, it went another, good job with that. They're right, critics, there are a lot of funny parts. Wow, that was Ferris Bueller?

That's it with the domestic Oscar movies, not feeling compelled to watch Jackie, Hacksaw, High Water unless by happenstance.

Inferno - Struggled to make par. Hanks kept the story going but they left a lot of the charm of the book out.

Manchester By The Sea - Birdie. Excellent acting and the accents were much better than some other Boston movies (I'm talking to you Marky Mark). It is not a feel good movie, just to warn those who have not seen it.

If golf telecast rules infraction spotters were watching the Oscars, envelopgate would have never happened. They would be on the phone in 0.0392 seconds with an HD screencap screaming wrong envelop!

    • This statement doesn't make much sense to me.  So, I think the push and pull between a 3-wood meant for off the turf versus off the tee is how tall the face is on the 3-wood. I do not get how this mini driver would be good off the turf, or at least get the height needed to stop the ball as a normal 3-wood meant for off the ground. Maybe they care more about hitting the 3-wood off the tee versus off the turf. Nearly every strike would be low on the clubface relative to the CG location.  I would take that statement as more as marketing over what you would actually expect the club to perform.
    • No, not that Minnie Driver. This one: It's a mini driver from Titleist, available for Tour validation/testing starting this week at Kapalua. It's available in righty and lefty and is only in 13° models for now. GT280 is a direct result of Titleist’s collaboration with PGA TOUR players on the development and testing of the TSR 2W prototype, which debuted on TOUR at last year’s PLAYERS Championship. With many players seeking an additional option at the top end of their setup, Titleist tour reps and R&D engineers worked with players such as Cameron Young and Will Zalatoris to dial in a 13-degree head that worked as a go-to club off the tee and off the deck. Now on Tour: New Titleist GT280 The arrival of the 2025 PGA TOUR season this week in Maui brings with it an addition to Titleist’s breakthrough line of GT metalwoods: the new Titleist GT280.
