I'm really excited for the next Blade Runner coming out this Friday. For how much the first movie has a cult following, I think it hasn't had much hype around it. It might be they are keeping information on the down low.

Blade Runner in 4K - Tap in Birdie

It's been a while since I've watched this movie from begin to end. This movie is easily a tap in birdie. It's a great movie for the 4K format. Since the graphics are not CG, they look crisp and stunning in 4k. The acting is very good. Harrison Ford has his gruff cop acting down. I forget how creepy the actors made their "replica" android personas. The scenes were they turn on the charm to then switching off the emotions is chilling.

This movie holds up well. The beginning of the movie dates it as Los Angeles 2019. I like how a lot of their assumptions on 2019 technology never came true. I wasn't sure they were every trying to guess on what 2019 technology would be since the world of Blade Runner is a dystopian world.

For those who are fans of Blade Runner, and have 4K TV w/ the 4K Player, get this movie in 4K.

Ex Libris: The New York Public Library, eagle. Almost 3 and a half hours, but worth it. Lingers on its subjects and shows how beneficial and even transformative the library can be. I got dusty during a couple of scenes.

Finally got a MoviePass, $10/month kind of unlimited, we'll see how long that lasts.

The theaters around my house are listed as some that accept Movie Pass.   I may have to give it a go.   Our movies aren't expensive, usually $8.50 but it only takes 2 to easily cover the cost.

The coverage in NYC is pretty good, many of these are at least $15.

Netflix's OtherLife. Birdie. I don't know how they expect people to find this movie. Don't read anything about it. Give it a go, wait and see what happens.

I watched this yesterday.  I'd give it a solid par.  It was good, although I have to admit I wanted her to take a bit more vengeance on her stupid business partners.

Looking forward to this in November, NSFW. So many familiar faces in the trailer, Frances McDormand is turning her Olive Kitteridge ornery realist up ten notches.

    • I think it's just to provide clarity. If you marked your ball with a pebble or a small twig, that's a loose impediment, and someone else could move it. An "obstruction" or a man-made thing, or an artificial thing, isn't a loose impediment.
    • Day 243 (2 Jan 25) - Grandson directed drills today - he wanted to hit easy pitches into the holes of the Martin bird house (had it at ground level) - it is doable but it calls for a perfectly executed shot.  He came close a couple of times.  For me it’s about distance control and such.  Drill two - me hit same foam balls to him while he’s in the swing saucer - into a slight wind…now it’s distance control plus anticipating the wind.  A fun exercise - got really close on a number of shots.  Drill three - take his youth Cobra SW and hit flops into to the foam ball basket while he was holding it. Great eye-hand work for him - wedge control for me.  That little wedge  works well.  By the end my junior coach was done and I was too….
    • Going to give this a try for a while and see if it sticks.  Day 1 Today was some full practice: 30 minutes of range work focused on coordinating weight transfer based on Evolvr feedback 10 minutes putting speed control work 10 minutes chipping practice with random targets 5 minutes bump and run work with 7 iron
    • Day 23: 1/2/2025 Had a great range session today. It was downright frigid this morning at the range, but the overhead heater made it tolerable. I started off working on my PPJ swing thought. Some slower, swings, somewhat exaggerating the movements. Then I switched focus and just hit the 6-iron about a half dozen times without thinking. I filmed two of these swings to send to Yoda.  After that, I worked my way up and down the bag (random practice... yay.) Hitting one shot with each club aiming at a specific target. I tried to focus on where and not how. Over all, I was pretty impressed with my results.  If you categorize each shot as either good, bad or good enough. I would say nearly all of them were either in the good or good enough category. Again, yay.  I'm going to do some more mirror work tonight, looking at my videos I think I can still improve what I'm doing. But over all, I was really happy with today's range session. I feel like I've had a giant leap forward in my swing. We shall see if the progress can continue.  Yay.
    • Day 169: did a stack session. Worked on the early backswing stuff with slow rehearsal swings during rest breaks as well.
