The target looks like a tiny dot from the balcony.

Lee Westwood is pretty amazing. 7 iron? I was thinking that they would need to use a shorter club at 100 yards up and 235 out.

How many shots would it take you to even hit the barge? I think it would take me many a large bucket, if at all. :-D

Wimps. I'd have gamed a sand wedge there and taken a little off it. Hit it in the dime sized brown spot with a low spinner. Smooth as glass with my Ping Eye2.

(That's from memory so I'm sure I didn't get anything quite right…)

This went over my head. Methinks there's a thread or two I didn't read I need to get this. I generally avoid, how do I put this delicately, CRACKPOT-ish threads.

Ping Eye2 are the hottest sticks on the market, total jewels.  Mine pretty much tear through trees and the like, GIR is up to 84%.  If you don't bag Pings you're a total 'mo.

Starts off a little slow but gets better and better. Classic thread gone full-retard.

Enjoy.

Thanks. I think. :-) BTW, I own a set of PE2s black dot. They're not bad, but I prefer my Titleists. IMHO, the hype is not commensurate with the performance.

I "bag" the PING Eye2(0). Does that count? :-D

The extra 0 takes away from my GIR though, with 8.4% GIR

I just read through that whole thread... classic. I will say that I have a set of Ping eye 2s in the garage and they are absolutely the ugliest irons I've ever seen or played. Period.

I have to ask the obvious question, was that really iacas?

Was what me? Was I also Famous Davis? No. I've only ever been iacas.

    • This page on Sous-Vide chicken explains why the USDA uses the 160 degree rule. http://www.seriouseats.com/2015/07/the-food-lab-complete-guide-to-sous-vide-chicken-breast.html Basically it is based round bacterial survival rate at certain temperatures. At 165 degrees bacteria is killed in an instant. You can pasteurize chicken at 130 degrees, it just takes a long time.  As long as the eggs reach a temperature threshold and is held at the temperature for a specific amount of time then it's perfectly safe to eat.
    • My scrambled egg method is similar, but I prefer a cooler pan rather than the on-and-off method. I also pre-salt my eggs:  http://www.seriouseats.com/2016/04/food-lab-american-omelettes-ham-and-cheese.html
    • I have done this once. However it was back in my college days when I was quite strong and swung like a gorilla. Club head came clean off at the hosel with an impressive snap. It was my dad's driver (wonderful) and I think it was a Titleist head but I remember it being an Aldila shaft. When I showed the pro the remains of the club he something about the shaft being too long with too much flex for my swing speed.
    • I had the same problem this summer for a while.  What a playing buddy noticed was that I was letting my ball position creep back in my stance for 3 wood and 7 wood. I didn't realize it until he said stop and look where your ball is in your stance right before I was about to start my backswing.  I was lining up to the ball about where I usually would hit a 7 iron. I have had much better results lately since that was pointed out to me.  Might want to double check that.   Before he pointed that I was thinking the same things you were.... am I not sweeping, do I need to be steeper etc. Now I make double sure I have not let the ball creep back and then my usual swing thoughts.
    • I had some pretty scary times in S.E. Asia, but since this is a golf forum...... I was searching in a rough area for my ball. I stepped on this huge snake. In my haste to get away from this pissed off critter, I stumble, fell down, but continued crawl out of the critter's space. I was not graceful at all.  After I got my stuff together, and knew I was not bit, I located the critter which turned out to be a 4' +/- bull snake. When I stepped on it, it seemed it was much bigger.  I triple bogied that hole.
