I use to skate a little bit in high school. This looks like fun.

I don't see any straps...I assume you can just switch stances at any time.

I just don't know if it would operate in reverse.

If it's like a snowboard the bindings would just be rotated to allow goofy/regular footed and the board only needs to go in one direction.

In one of the videos there seems to be a kind of "sleeve" the feet slide into.

In one scene, it looked like there were straps, but the next they were gone. I could image wanting to switch positions to rest, like skateboarding down a long mountain road. Even if they did have straps, I'm sure they'd change easily. Half of the boarders are goofy half regular. Back to my youth! I hope my courses by some. :-):-):-)

I'm terrible at snowboarding, but I actually think it looks kind of fun.

Is it designed for goofy only though? The guy in the first video was using it right-foot-forward.

In the second video there are people riding it both ways.

The second one started off with an annoying voice, so I skipped it. My bad, :-P

Wow, this opens the door for other similar ideas.   How about a wide wheeled (one that can roll on grass) bicycle, tricyle with a place to put your bag?   Segway anyone?

No , but I'd like to have stock in them. I think golf courses will be knocking down their door for these....

Surely you joke (I'm hoping so) ?

This is at best a gimmick, and I can't think of a single course I play at which would even allow such a thing on the course.  Their liability insurance policies alone would prohibit it.

@newtogolf- I don't see where the potential of abuse and injury is any greater than for a cart. If it was left to you would you outlaw these because you think they are unsafe? Maybe we ought to stop trying be protect us from ourselves because none of us is smart enough to do it.......

I'm not sure where you come from, but in NY most people can barely manage to get on an escalator without killing themselves and others.

Someone has to work pretty hard to get hurt in a golf cart.  Only people I've ever seen get hurt were drunken idiots, who would certainly kill themselves on the Golfboard.

You really expect a non-boarder type to heave his 30lb bag on his shoulder, hop on this and ride uneven terrain with potholes without hurting themselves and suing the idiots that rented it to them?

I thought there were crowded subways in NY, and most people manage to stuff themselves into those daily?

The picture I get is that most people would ride it like a motorized Razor with the bag attached to the handle bar. I agree it would be a tad inconvenient to carry the bag. Plus there is the danger of sway.

The lean to turn aspect is a really cool feeling, and it will have less impact than carts and don't require the wide cart paths.

No cupholders? Do you have to hold your beer when riding this? No deal.

On the handle bars...

It's just a grass board with a motor. People have been using these things to do everything from parasailing to you name it for years. The ones with skis and the inline boards are nuts.

Really?  You think that 4 players each with his own board racing around the course will have less impact than 4 players in 2 carts specifically designed for golf and for low impact?  And it would never, ever eliminate the current cart paths, because you can't offer only these contraptions - most actual golfers would never use them.

You want to go boarding, go boarding.  You want to play golf, play golf.  I can't see this as even a remotely reasonable activity mix.  What's next - hitting shots as you navigate a half pipe?

That's silly, the Golfboard is too heavy for a half pipe :-D . Maybe we could somehow modify the sand traps...

I walk almost all the time, only when I feel lazy would I drive/board anyway. If the carts are less prevalent, they could reduce/eliminate cart paths because there would be so few of them.

You're right though, this concept might not really take off. I hope it does, though.

In skateboarding it is called switch if I remember(snowboarding - goofy).  I would skate switch and snowboard regular.  I never was able to figure out why.  I think I would ride this thing switch.  That being said, I would rather walk.

    • I get kidney stones. So 100 oz of water every day. Some nights I drink 32oz between midnight and 6 Am. Which means I dont sleep much.
    • 46 (9 over) Short game and putts were awful!
    • 46+40 for an 86. I just need to play 9 holes on the range before each round. 🤣🤣🤣
    • I don’t measure my intake either. I generally have a black coffee, a bottle of soda, some sweet tea at home, and anything in between is water. An ice cold bottle of water is one of my favorite things. It feels like an immediate refresher for my body. I’ll admit that I need to drink a little more though.
    • For such a nice membership, there have been some bad incidents in the past few years.  We had someone voted out a couple of years ago over something he did and he harassed the board members for three months until he moved out of the area.   Generally they’ve tried to do things like tournament handicaps and identify certain people who they know should be lower and adjust it somehow.  I can understand not wanting to go thru something like the guy who was voted out again i emailed the pro who forwarded it to the handicap committee.  They are going to see what can be done.  I walked someone thru what happened and they are going to nudge him to post the score from the match and see what he does.  Since he didn’t put anything in the electronic scoring past 13, based on how he played 14 and 15 plus having to take bogey on 16-18 for after he left, he should post 83.  We’ll see if it’s even higher,   Since he was really even thru 13, then doubled 14 and parred 15 my guess is he really shot 75 being generous and giving him 2 pars and a bogey on the three holes he didn’t play.    i shot 88, getting 16 shots for my course handicap which is net even and I lost on 13.  We do brackets where handicaps should be within 4-5 of each other.  Most matches only have 1-2 shots as a difference between players  neither of us posted the score yet.  There was something in the match play rules about whether or not to post your score.  I couldn’t remember if we were supposed to or not.  I don’t think he was going to post that, because even with his inflated score it would be the lowest score in his recent 20. Lucky I didn’t because they want to see what he does post and they don’t want me posting so he can try to calibrate his score.
