Eyes Wide Shut might be up on the list of movies I've watched all the way through. Seriously contemplated leaving at several points in that one.

We rented it while in college, thinking it would be a hilarious send-up of Silence of the Lambs, given that Dom DeLuise was in it.

Well, it was a send up... but NOT hilarious. I don't think we made it 15 minutes in before we all looked at each other in disgust and turned it off.

Ishtar (1987)

Written and directed by Elaine May and starring Academy Award winning duo Warren Beatty and Dustin Hoffman as "Roger and Clarke", two untalented lounge singers who travel to Morocco in hopes of finding a gig. Due to unanticipated problems with filming in the desert—which resulted in numerous reshoots—the film ran over budget by $30 million. While its final budget cost was $55 million, Ishtar earned only $14,375,181 at the North American box office leading Ishtar to become synonymous with " box office flop ". The film was also subject to harsh reviews from critics. Roger Ebert stated that "Ishtar is a truly dreadful film, a lifeless, massive, lumbering exercise in failed comedy"; ^[129] Gene Siskel called it "shockingly dull" and "dim-witted"; ^[130] and together they selected it as the worst film of 1987 on Siskel & Ebert & The Movies . ^[131] The film was nominated for Worst Picture and Worst Screenplay in the 1987 Golden Raspberry Awards , winning one for Worst Director. You guys haven't even mentioned any movie starring John Saxon, worst actor of all time!  I guess I must separate movies that I have seen from those I would never see, like Ishtar above.

I would say, Day of the Dolphin starring George C Scott.  Truly epic in its level of bad. It was Leonard Pinth Garnell bad.

I loathed the remake of the Hills Have Eyes . It was so disgusting and disturbing to me that I had to walk out halfway through. Maybe it was the opening sequence of atomic explosions coupled with deformed bodies in jars, or the mutated people who kept attacking the main characters? I couldn't take it anymore when one of those mutants took a gun and pointed it a baby's head laughing. I had to leave. Just an awful, awful movie.

I'm not sure it's the worst movie of all time. And I'm not sure these next ones I'm going to list are the worst either, but I do think they're abysmal:

Pearl Harbor - Ben Affleck should have been sunk with the Arizona.

That's My Boy - Awful, awful movie.  Lasted 10 minutes.

Friends with Benefits - 20 minutes

The A-Team - So bad I was compelled to see if everyone dies in the end.

The Matrix Reloaded - Weird.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - Harrison, you let me down dude!

Batman and Robin - My 14 years old Godson would make a more believable Batman.

I actually know the writer for Analyze This .  He was in my brother's class in High School, Peter Tolan.  He wrote for Murphy Brown among other things.  Nice guy and very funny.  Movie was OK, but not a worst ever.

Haha, oops! Darn internet making the world too small. I was not expecting to run into someone who actually knew someone from one of these movies.

My fault. I dunno why I didn't like it. I normally like Crystal and De Niro. Something about it, I can't explain. I haven't seen it in years, but my memory of it was really negative for some reason.

No hard feelings though, obviously. You have to drag your soul through broken glass to get a real movie made, so respect to these folks for even trying.

Surprised that you think Juno and Slumdog Millionaire were "abysmal."  I thought those were both really good movies.  Neither falls into the category of movies I re-watch on TV (but that is a special category that doesn't directly correlate with quality anyway) but they were both good.

I really like Rising Sun too ... but will happily admit that I'm likely in the minority on that one.

As far as Crystal Skull goes, I think that one is simply the worst of the 4 (which means it couldn't have been that good because number 2 was horrible) but that is about as far as I'd go.  My co-workers are also adamant about how bad this movie is, but I think they are just romanticizing how good the previous ones were.  They forget how cheesy they've all been. :)

First of all, let me just say that I'm normally not this much of a hater. That said, it is fun to bash movies with other people Obviously I'm no film critic!

Slumdog millionaire: I dunno, I just think Danny Boyle was waaaaaaaay out of his depth trying to make this movie. To me, it just did not seem like he had much of a grasp on Indian culture, and thus his commentary about it I found to be pretty sophomoric.

Rising Sun: Wow... really, GD??? LOL. Now, I can't totally hate this movie because it is "awesomely bad," but come on now! That said, the scene where Connery is playing golf is pretty sweet.

Crystal Skull: South Park captured how I feel about this movie haha! I do agree that many people, including me, romanticize the first three, when in reality, they are pretty silly themselves. Still, I saw them when I was a kid, and thus, those three will forever be enshrined in my movie hall of fame.

Juno: Ummmm... hmmmm... You're making me recall Juno now, so now I dislike you ... okay, seriously, Diablo Cody. Not a fan. Ellen Page as a preggers manic pixie dream girl? I dunno... There are just some movies that rub me the wrong way haha. The note ending was a nice touch though. ANd maybe Juno isn't a true manic pixie dream girl , but it's too close for comfort.

Seriously, there isn't a whole lot of logic in these opinions of mine. Let's just be clear on that.

In no particular order:

LOL on the "mpdg!"  I've never heard that term before, but that sums it up prety well.  Now I'm mad at myself because I made you think more about this movie, which in turn, now has me thinking more about it and I'm remembering things like:  The "cutesy" (and I say that as the exact opposite of a compliment) soundtrack, complete with the dorky song the two of them sang at the end (or was it the beginning?) on the porch.  Whatever.  The way everybody is enamored with "Cups" right now reminds me of that stupid song.  (And cups is 1000 times better than that stupid thing was)

Yes, Rising Sun is perfectly described as an "awesomely bad movie."    It's like an "Ice Ice Baby" of bad movies. ;)  Don't you just love a Japanese-ish Sean Connery??  I mean, come on man!!!  Also, I was 18 or 19 when it came out, so any movie that basically opens with a steamy sex scene gets extra points when your a teenager.  Especially one that is caught on film and replayed a few more times. ;)  Also, I like most anything that has something to do with Michael Crichton.

Slumdog?  You could be right.  I don't know much about Indian culture at all (except that they love their dance numbers at the end of all movies!!) so you could be right.  I just remember being entertained in the theater.

And Crystal Skull ... you obviously got my point, and I do agree that it wasn't good so there's really nothing to discuss.  But really ... Why is it so hard to believe that you could survive a nuclear explosion by crawling into a refrigerator???  It could happen!!! ;)
