It's relatively steady, but since we don't have an FO view, we don't know if it's done properly (i.e. with a good torso turn).

P.S. Lots of great other threads here in which to participate, too, @mackingchicken. :)

Yeah ill try get some better vids soon! Back at uni now so I wont have as much time to play!!!

Need to try this one!

Anyone use this while playing? Not just as a drill?

I've known a few people to do it, yeah.

Yes, I do it.  Kicking the right knee in towards the ball and causing myself to hit an ugly pull hook has been one of my issues in the past.  Incorporating the "toes up" (right foot only) drill into my actual swing has helped to curb that.

There is another drill that I find handy during play as well:  Erik's pre-set drill causes a fairly consistent draw or hook, so if I'm ever in position to have to hook one around a tree or something, I'll just play my next shot with that "drill."

Yeah, the toes up drill is fantastic for learning how to "bank" and get your weight forward. I use it a lot and you can definitely use it in actual play as well. Another good one is to bank your trail foot at address and hit balls, helps you feel the proper position for impact. And I agree with Erik (Iacas), lots of other threads you can and should participate in. You'll find a lot more people will be willing to help you if you become more active and a part of the community. It's kind of frowned upon to only "take" and not participate elsewhere y'know.

That is a good point. Some of the drills you should be hitting a push draw or hook. A lot of these drills exaggerate a movement, and it should result in an extreme reaction. A lot of times it could be an ugly as hell shot as well. Some of the best results on camera have been a shank. Just depends on the drill and what you are exaggerating. The toe's up drill is not really a case of this. A drill were someone might be working on a downswing piece for diagonal swing path might cause some ugly shots at first. Key is don't get upset with bad contact on some of the drills. Don't fear things that feel horrible at first. Growing pains are common.

Plenty of threads you can participate in with giving out advise or instruction. Here's a pile of examples:

A personal favourite (I'm actually putting you in that thread in few moments :-P ) : http://thesandtrap.com/t/59498/the-best-worst-spelling-and-grammar-errors-thread

Lot's of ways to be social and develop a rapport with other members regardless of golf skills, heck, I'm a forum leader and I have a horrible swing. :-O

Just wondering now I am back at uni how many (realistic) times every 2 weeks should I try to practice to keep improvement steady? Is once a fortnight going to be too little. Im aiming to go atleast once a week but not sure I will be able to keep that a constant..

In my opinion you should practice everyday either in front of a mirror or using a video.. You can go to the range once or twice a week to check your ball flight and record hitting a ball, but with out daily practice it wil be hard to see steady improvement in changing the picture in my opinion..

Yeah I do a lot of backswing practice at home, but then sometimes im not even sure I am doing it correct or if it is helping at all!

Trying to get more hip rotation but causing head to move around, pretty sure I just hate my swing haha..

Agree, head is moving down and to the right too much.

Would like to see you practice with the right side of your head against the door frame (green arrow). Will keep the head centered and give you the feeling for the bending and stretching.

Right pic, note how the golfer's shoulders are turning much more vertically which also allows them to turn further.

Watch this video again and do those swings with the head against the door frame. Film those swings as well.

Filmed a swing just before this post! I will upload it now. I was really working on trying to keep my head still and I think its an improvement! I really need to get that shoulder dipping down instead of flat though!

Careful macking. The keys never mention keeping your head still. "Still" is not what the 5SK guys have seen in common with the best swings. Re-read that key on "steady head" and see the difference. Subtle but important.

Practice turns with a sock under each arm about and inch down from the armpit. . Try to keep the pressure under that location longer in the back swing as you make a turn. I am not saying SQUEEZE the living crap out of the sock. Just make sure there is a nice subtle pressure there to keep the sock in place. Just work on getting the turn earlier and quicker. The swing will feel like a TON of body and a slight raise with the arms/hands at the end.
