The stats say otherwise. His approach game alone would put him at the top of the heap for strokes gained even if you blanked him in the other categories.

Can you show me these stats? I'd be interested to see them. Because I've never heard any analyst claim that Woods' long game is better than his short game.

Woods' short game has been the model of inconsistency for 3 years ... up one month, down another, genius one day, below average Touring Pro the next... While others reach their mature prime around Woods' age, Tiger prime seems past...

Ping G400 Max 9/TPT Shaft, TEE EX10 Beta 4, 5 wd, PXG 22 HY, Mizuno JPX919F 5-GW, TItleist SM7 Raw 55-09, 59-11, Bettinardi BB39

pfffft ... that's nothing ... for Tiger.

In his PRIME, he was winning 6, 7, 8, and 9 times in a year.

Yeah I guess your right tmac20. I suppose Adam Scott's beautiful swing has produced 19 pga& Euro tour wins combined and one major. When's his prime? Or did I miss it?

I never said Scott was better than Tiger Woods. Woods was the best player of all time in my opinion. But it wasn't because of his swing. It's because he's a winner and can perform better under pressure than anyone else in the game. He can get up and down when it matters, and sink unbelievable putts when it matters. But Adam Scott has a better swing.

Scott's swing might look better but it obviously doesn't work as well. His swing is like the Monet of swings. It looks good from a distance but the closer you look you realize its just not that special.

Scott's swing looks great from any distance. It has been his putting that has held him back from winning a lot of tournaments, not his long game.

    • Day 519 - 2026-03-04 Got some work in before lessons. Mostly downswing. My backswing is good.
    • Yeah I’ve tried it but I don’t feel very comfortable doing it like that. Isn’t there like a website where I can do it so it’s safer?? I got scammed one time on FBM so I don’t trust it.
    • Day 200 3-4 Wider back swing, arms up a bit higher, and added in some flow work to start getting a since of a full swing. Still focusing on arching wrist through downswing.
    • It's going to be very difficult for the 2026 Masters to match the 2025 edition for storyline. I honestly don't know that anyone else in the field could match the story of Rory finally winning after so many years and the blow ups over the years, not to mention the career slam being completed. No one this year that I can think of is remotely close to that kind of story. Combine that with the attempts at blow ups last year (Double on the 1st, 13, 18 on first try) and the stunningly good shots that he hit in the final round (7, 15, 17, 18 on second try).  Full gamut: https://www.masters.com/en_US/watch/2025-04-13/17445961638226475/every_single_shot_from_rory_mcilroys_final_round.html
