The perceived weakness of the B1G is hurting MSU, OSU and Nebraska.   The chair of the committee just the same as said so when he discussed the quality of the teams OSU has played to this point.    It looks to me like the best chance the B1G has at getting a spot in the top 4 is MSU, provided they win out.  I know that isn't what you want to hear but attritition among those above MSU might let them sneak in.  Going in to East Lansing and beating a well rested MSU would certainly give OSU a boost but the flip side is, it might also give the committee reason to further downgrade the B1G's SOS (not saying it will, just saying it might).

The TCU/K-State game is looking to be huge right now since that could well be the defacto Big 12 championship game.,

On paper, it looks like FSU has the easiest road in but I also think one stumble would probably knock them out of the top 4 altogether since the ACC is not exactly "murderer's row".  It's pretty clear the committee sees the SEC (and the west in particular) as the toughest conference, so it's a pretty safe bet the SEC champ will be there although it's anybody's guess who that will be.

Long way to go but early in the second quarter it certainly looks like Louisville can hang with FSU.

Petrino played at the small school I played at in college. His dad was the coach there forever, I think 40+ years. Not exactly at the top of the list character wise of our alumni, but the guy can coach.

I think it depends on the team they are facing, and how the points were scored. A team could easily struggle for 3 quarters, get hot in the 4th and win by over two touchdowns. A team could blow out another team for a half, then just coast in, and the scores could be the same.

Q1: 7-7

Q2: 7-14

Q3: 14-17

Q4: 35-17

Q1: 14-0

Q2: 28-7

Q3: 35-14

Q4: 35-17

Which one looks more impressive? I would say game two does because the game was never out of control for the first team. Just looking at score isn't that important. There are a lot of games that are closer than they look.

A ranking system that goes play by play on every college football drive, also adjusts for strength of schedule and garbage time plays. So TCU going all 82 points on their opponents. A lot of those points are not meaningful because it didn't have any significant impact on the outcome of the game.

Now does the rankings say anything about wins and losses. Not really, the flow of the game, and specifically match ups are important. Why the whole argument, "Well they beat this team, and that team beat this team, so they are not as good as that team" is crap. Why Oregon can loose to Stanford and then Stanford goes and looses to Utah or someone they shouldn't.

Winning the last 3 conference games is more than a long shot so I've accepted that it's not going to happen. If I watch the Tennessee game but insert Dak Prescot for Joshua Dobbs in my imagination it turns into a nightmare very quickly.

At this point I'm just hoping it's anybody except FSU.

Hard game to pick is Auburn at Ole Miss. Auburn can usually run the ball against anybody but Ole Miss has a defense built to stop it if anybody can. Something's got to give.

Kansas State did a better job than anybody of stopping Auburn but they had the best fundamental techniques I've seen in quite a while. Seldom do I watch a game these days without getting disgusted with the defensive techniques and discipline but Kansas State was an exception (at least in that game).

Ole Miss has better athletes on defense than Kansas State so we'll see if they can play as fundamentally sound. If they do they will win the game.

On the other hand Auburn's defense is less than impressive but Ole Miss' offense is inconsistent.

Just hope that MSU blows Ohio out of the top 25. Such an overrated free pass team. They've beaten NO ONE and lost to an unranked weak Vtech. They lost to Vtech and beat cupcakes yet Oklahoma State barely lost to FSU and Ohio was given a higher ranking. Same old story....Ohio gets its free pass to an over ranked spot in the beginning....beats a bunch of cup cakes then gets their asses handed to them by a real team.
