I was worried about the Belgians for a while: they've been touted as everybody's dark horse in the lead-in to the tournament that they've become a little overrated. They've drawn level with Algeria now, so they aren't going to hurt their chances of advancement any further today.

Why is there all is talk about Mexico being really confident? What has Mexico done recently? They sucked all qualifying and had to be saved by the USA. Panama should be in their spot. Then all they had to do was get matched up with an AWFUL New Zealand squad. Any team in the hexagonal could have handled New Zealand. Then they get drawn into a fairly mediocre group. They beat an old, bad Cameroon squad 1-0, and now they think they're a great team now? Ridiculous.

I am not a fan of Mexico, but they are much better than their qualifying record this time around.  Ochoa has been a beast today.  They are frustrating the heck out of Brazil.  Great match thus far.

Everyone who expected this World Cup to be a cakewalk for the Brazilian hosts need to re-evaluate their predictions. If Mexico can play this team to a stalemate, their prospective round of 16 match against one of the 2010 finalists becomes a vulnerable matchup.
