I'm pretty sure that after back surgery you're on strict bedrest, so its not that surprising that he isn't at the champions dinner.

If Mickelson would've had the same injury, I can guarantee you he wouldn't have come. Nobody would after back surgery.

I said that if his surgery prevented him from going, than that obviously makes sense.  I meant if Tiger was physically able to attend, I still doubt he would have, but if healthy, I think Phil would.

So if Tiger was healthy, Phil would have attended? ;-)

That's really speculative.

Why would TIger not attend? Is there any evidence to suggest that he doesn't usually attend?

Of course it's speculative.  Isn't that what we do around these parts? :-) And of course he USUALLY attends because he's USUALLY already in town.

Gary Player still has a hell of a swing for 78 years old!  I feel bad for Arnie. He's never struggled like this at the Par 3.  Still awesome to see him out there though.

Arnold Palmer is honestly the coolest man alive. As old as he is, golfing like he can, jabbing at other players, his stories, he's a boss.

Absolutely. I am seriously getting a kick out of Jack too. Such a class act. He would be a badass grandpa to have too. Most kids are like "Ahhh, do I HAVE to go to grandma and grandpa's today????". His granddaughter has to be in awe right now at the fact that thousands of people both her age and his age are admiring and saluting her grandpa, giving him high fives and standing O's every time he walks down the fairway, etc.

It was cool when Jack stopped and signed that little girl's yellow cast on her arm too and gave her a kiss on the forehead and went about his way. Such a cool dude.

Is there a leaderboard for the par 3 contest somewhere?

I don't know, but you can watch it live at Masters.com ... that's what I'm doing.  The only scores I know are Arnold Palmer - DNF and Victor Dubuiisson - 3 under.

Whoops, they just showed it.  Ryan Moore is -6, somebody is -4, and a bunch are -3.

I know a Par 3 contest winner has never won the Masters in the same year....but it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to throw the winner in your fantasy golf team either way ;-)

    • Day 146: 5/21/24 Putting through gates for distance control and chipping practice indoors.
    • For general practice, this ratio is what I'd recommend: Making real changes in the golf swing is hard for everybody. Make sure you're practicing properly. A good topic on that subject is here: I have limited time for practice, too. I also find I enjoy doing full swing work more than anything else so that's what I always end up spending most of my time doing. Lately I have found that just doing some basic short game motions in my office is enough for me to improve my short game and that's kind of opened up a new area of practice for me because it literally takes a few minutes out of my day. Now if I can figure out how to practice my putting inside of 10' I might actually be decent at this game. Welcome to TST.
    • day 68. Technique work into the net. Lots of rehearsal and slow swings with a ball trying to understand how to achieve a flat wrist at impact. 🤷‍♂️
    • Day 20 (21 May 24) - Played 18 with a couple of friends at one of the nearby courses…a personal course best of 84.  A lot of greenside up and down scrambling including a number of bunker shots….
    • I’m sure I’m not the only one here with a family and limited practice time. That being said, I’m in the process of making what feels like major swing changes.  Primarily, my issues are a late loading backswing and passive arms that lead to a steep downswing that relies a lot on timing. I’ve been swinging with these faults for a while so making the changes has been extremely challenging.  With limited practice time, how much time should I spend implementing these changes via drills and slow intentional swing feels compared to practicing different aspects such as my drives, approaches, wedge shots and short game? I’d be fine hitting bucket after bucket just working on drills but can’t figure out if that would be the most beneficial to my game.  Thanks for the help!
