Eagle plus Best Round Ever

[Always an 80]

I finally feel like a real golfer.  Played 18 at Helfrich Hills GC in Evansville, IN.  Shot my lifetime low of 76. On the par 5 seventh I bounced off a tree into the middle of the fairway, and then stuck it two feet from pin from 160.  My buddy made me putt that one.  He usually just says "That's good".  Not this time.  He wanted to see me miss the two footer for my first Eagle ever.  He has seen me putt before. Actually made this one!  I was probably shaking like a dog.

My round was like the priest in Caddy Shack.

Playing there again tomorrow.  I'll probably shoot 90.

Nice job. I've managed to mess up every eagle opportunity I've ever had. The worst was on a par 5 with OB all down the right side. Hit my tee shot OB, then reloaded and striped a 3W 265 right down the middle. Stuck a 4 iron to 8 feet and made the putt. Of course that ended up being a par....

I remember my first eagle over 40 years ago. I now have eagles in the last 6 decades.  My first eagles were all made by reaching par 5's in two shots and making a putt. I haven't had one of those in 15 years. My last 3 eagles have all been 100+ yards.

I had one about like that on a par 5 a couple of weeks ago but it was 140 yards...and I cheated.

I saw the ball bounce on the cart path four times before it went out of my sight over a hill. Usually on that hole if a ball hits the cart path in ends up OB but this time it stayed on the cart path and in bounds.

Bad thing was that I hit a fairly bad second shot. Good thing was that I lucked in a very long putt.
