Although most folks would obviously choose the scoring average statistic, I have always loved the BALL STRIKING statistic. Ball Striking is computed by totaling a player's rank in both Total Driving and Greens in Regulation. And.. Remember Total Driving is Driving Distance AND Fairways hit... Aside from scoring average, anyone had a fancy for a Tour stat? There are quite a few cool ones, like BOUNCE BACK, PUTTING AVERAGE, PROXIMITY TO HOLE, SCRAMBLING etc..

I like to keep track of my short game handicap. It has a lot to do with my over all score. Anything under 3 for greens I miss in regulation is good. Anything under 2 for GIRs is good. Right now I am at 2.68, which is equivalent to an 84 for 18 holes. 84 is what I am hovering over right now. I need to hit more greens in regulation, which also means I need to hit more accurate approach shots from 150+ yards.

Would you elaborate some more on these statistics?

Same here ... While I have an app that tracks fairways and putts ... I do not pay too much attention, as those stats have leveled out over the years ... I can almost predict those before the round ... Thank god they don't track lefting your head ... Just can't keep it steady!

Yep the best players are on tour because of how well they hit it. Have you seen this thread? You might like it.

    • Day 87 (27 Jul 25) - Made it an easy session with the wedge this afternoon, worked on staying in the shot and not lifting out - split between low spinners and higher floaters.
    • Shot my new low 72 (par 70) today. Had 5 birdies, also a new best, which included a hole out from the bunker on par 3 6th, and another hole out pitch from 15ish yards on the long par 4, 15th.  Got a couple of other good breaks. Except for an OB drive on 14th (and ensuing double bogey), not much went wrong. All in all I might have used up a year's worth of luck in a single day.
    • Back in the saddle after vacation.  Day 1: played 18. Did not have it, but still battled to an 82. Felt closer to a 90, but that’s fine.
    • Yes, I have seen this from the older crowd that play the 4,700 yard tees and want to know why they get less strokes from there. Always trying to game the system 🤣
    • Day 300 - 2025-07-27 Good 44-ball segment. GSPro was acting goofy, so I just put it on the Quad. Then I hit a bunch of low spinners. Hit 14° down to 9.8° down, with the average closer to 12.3° or so. Focused mostly on the backswing. Right knee good, hands roll up and out a little before laying off (FAR).
