Bubba just dead pulled a four foot putt, doesn't sniff the hole, and then angrily looks down at a spot on the green trying to blame that. C'mon dude, quit being such a whiner.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO That sucks, hard.

At least Darren Clarke is playing. Not well, of course but he's playing!...looks like a Dufner WD, not good.

Riley

Dufner withdrawing because of the neck. Really sad to see him have to drop out. Rest up Duf-man.

McIlroy showing signs of losing concentration, not for the first time. I wouldn't like to have any money on him at this stage...

The more I practise, the luckier I hope to get.

Kaymers putt fell in the right side of the cup - then Rory misses right side from the same place.....da fuq Rory?

Crazy day for Steve Flesch. Sucks he didn't get in, would have been a cool story. http://www.golfchannel.com/news/jason-sobel/analyst-alternate-fleschs-crazy-pga-day/

I would

Only a matter of time before he shoots 62 in a major...or 59 in a regular tournament.

Riley

I would

Yes, it has been a nice comeback. But I still feel he's going to blow up more than once in this tournament. In other news, Bubba W looks like a man who doesn't really think he can win. Slightly odd.

The more I practise, the luckier I hope to get.

Tom Watson is a boss. He beat Woods by 7 shots in the 4th round of the British Open, and by 2 shots today. The man is 64 years old - turning 65 in 4 weeks!

On a course that's almost 7,500 yards! If I have to bet on one to make the cut, my money's on Tom!

If McIlroy keeps playing like this he will be tough to beat. He just absolutely SMASHES drives 330 right down the middle. He had 175 into a par 5...most of his approaches are 130 or so due to him crushing the golf ball. In unrelated news, way to go Jerry Kelly!

With the way our Ryder Cup team is looking, he should pick himself.

    • It’s winter here and time hitting at my indoor place.  This year I bought and sold a few sets so I didn’t settle in on anything. For this coming season, starting now I have a choice to make.  What set would you guys use? 1.  Nike Vapor Pro irons - They are like new, hit them some last year before I had to demo other sets.  I love them, original grips, barely used so I’m almost not wanting to use them to keep their value up.  Standard LLL and standard grips. 2. Taylormade P7TW irons - Still in the box.  Got them over a year ago but had too much to hit, never used them.  Have used a set in the past and loved them.  Ended up with my own set custom fit to me -1/4”, 1 degree flat midsize grips.  These are probably not as valuable because they are still available and they are fit to me. I hate to put the Nikes away but it makes more sense to save them than the TW’s…. I dunno….
    • Day 215 (3 Dec 24) - Another very chilly day - opted to work on easy pitches in the backyard. Worked thru the irons and wedges - focused on foot position and tempo.
    • Yes. I believe in using the same ball all of the time, including chipping and putting practice. I use the orange Callaway Supersoft.  Only $25 per dozen, and sometimes on sale for $20.
    • A 5400 yd course is not that short for gents driving it 160 yards considering the approach shot lengths they are going to be faced with on Par 4s.  Also, for the course you are referring to I estimate the Par 4s have to average longer than 260 yds, because the Par 5s are 800 yds or so, and if there are four Par 3s averaging 130 the total is 1320 yds.  This leaves 4080 yds remaining for 12 Par 4s.  That is an average of 340 per hole. Anyway, if there are super seniors driving it only 160ish and breaking 80 consistently, they must be elite/exceptional in other aspects of their games.  I play a lot of golf with 65-75 yr old seniors on a 5400 yd course.  They all drive it 180-200 or so, but many are slicers and poor iron players.  None can break 80. I am 66 and drive it 200 yds.  My average score is 76.  On that course my average approach shot on Par 4s is 125 yds.  The ten Par 4s average 313 yds.  By that comparison the 160 yd driver of the ball would have 165 left when attempting GIR on those holes.
