You might be right. Maybe it's just me... I seem to be in a bad mood for some reason....

Fowler/Walker look like toast. Walker lost his mojo it seems. Didn't expect that from him. Looks like we need Furyk and Mahan to get hot.

They also ran into a tough opponent. McDowell/Dubuisson are on fire. Just like I was surprised Watson didn't play Spieth/Reed yesterday, I'm surprised McGinley didn't play G-Mac/Dubuisson more often. Both played really well in the Match Play in March.

haha yeah. I'm impressed. Like I said in the other thread, this is the one week out of the year I root hard for him and become a Reed fan. Would have liked to see him and Spieth play all four rounds.

We can't lose 3 of these 4. If we do, we're going have to do what Europe did 2 years ago and I don't see that happening. This is a crucial moment in the Ryder Cup right now.

Definitely. We need two points bad. Then tomorrow is shaping up to be awesome. However, if Europe gets three points, that will be extremely difficult. Z. Johnson just made a nice putt!

Just look at their match play history. They both played really well in the Match Play this year and have a good match play history in other Cup appearances.

Just wanted to say (see youedit your post): Dubuisson was very good in world match play, and in EurAsia Cup also won his fourballs match (with.... Joost Luiten :-P)

This Johnson/Kuchar match is HUGE. Need to win.

Yeah, I edited because I wasn't entirely sure of their Cup history and didn't want to be wrong. I thought they've played well in match play before, but don't have the stats in front of me to look up.

Good news is that 3 matches are on the back 9 and the margin is only 1UP for all 3. US could conceivably go on a roll here and run the tables. Bad news is that the Euros could too, and put this thing outta reach most likely.

I don't see us winning that McIlroy match. Rory is hot this afternoon. Only hope is Sergio starts choking.

I really don't want to like Doobweesone, but I can't help it. Guy is a stud.

It's about time Fowler/Walker matched the Euros in this match.

In my UnderArmour Links stand bag...

And his play is awesome right now. Hope he can do that tomorrow aa well.

With Stenson Europe would be up in all four matches perhaps. Hope his back problems wont bother him tomorrow. Garcia, damn..

I think Kooch and Zacko are going to get at least a halve out of their match, and hopefully the rookies hold off Rose and Kaymer. 9-7 Europe at the end of the day?

What happened? I don't think the US coverage has shown anything yet.

That would be best scenario at this point.

USA in trouble on that hole; instead of playing save Garcia goes for it and misses the green.

Technically, Furyk/Mahan are still very much in their match, but it's hard to see the breaks going their way, although Sergio's starting to play head games with himself.

    • It’s winter here and time hitting at my indoor place.  This year I bought and sold a few sets so I didn’t settle in on anything. For this coming season, starting now I have a choice to make.  What set would you guys use? 1.  Nike Vapor Pro irons - They are like new, hit them some last year before I had to demo other sets.  I love them, original grips, barely used so I’m almost not wanting to use them to keep their value up.  Standard LLL and standard grips. 2. Taylormade P7TW irons - Still in the box.  Got them over a year ago but had too much to hit, never used them.  Have used a set in the past and loved them.  Ended up with my own set custom fit to me -1/4”, 1 degree flat midsize grips.  These are probably not as valuable because they are still available and they are fit to me. I hate to put the Nikes away but it makes more sense to save them than the TW’s…. I dunno….
    • Day 215 (3 Dec 24) - Another very chilly day - opted to work on easy pitches in the backyard. Worked thru the irons and wedges - focused on foot position and tempo.
    • Yes. I believe in using the same ball all of the time, including chipping and putting practice. I use the orange Callaway Supersoft.  Only $25 per dozen, and sometimes on sale for $20.
    • A 5400 yd course is not that short for gents driving it 160 yards considering the approach shot lengths they are going to be faced with on Par 4s.  Also, for the course you are referring to I estimate the Par 4s have to average longer than 260 yds, because the Par 5s are 800 yds or so, and if there are four Par 3s averaging 130 the total is 1320 yds.  This leaves 4080 yds remaining for 12 Par 4s.  That is an average of 340 per hole. Anyway, if there are super seniors driving it only 160ish and breaking 80 consistently, they must be elite/exceptional in other aspects of their games.  I play a lot of golf with 65-75 yr old seniors on a 5400 yd course.  They all drive it 180-200 or so, but many are slicers and poor iron players.  None can break 80. I am 66 and drive it 200 yds.  My average score is 76.  On that course my average approach shot on Par 4s is 125 yds.  The ten Par 4s average 313 yds.  By that comparison the 160 yd driver of the ball would have 165 left when attempting GIR on those holes.
