I am calling you out as a non-golfer IF.........................

You're ripping guys who get excited about breaking 80 on a course rated 68.4 or something similar, but the reality is that very few of us play courses such as what you describe (72.8 rating, 131 slope) on a regular basis. Maybe you or I wouldn't be happy about a 79 on a 68.4 rated layout, but why do you feel the need to rain on someone's parade? Hey, none of us should be judging the merits of someone else's rounds. If they're thrilled, I'm happy for them. You should be, too.

I hold a course record on a course that's par 70 with a 70.0 rating and a 127 slope. Should I be embarrassed because the rating and slope don't meet your standards? 

 

Bingo!  I shot my PB on a course with a 69.4/120 rating, but as far as I'm concerned, one over par 73 is still just one over par.

Yeah, but Stella is just for fancy courses and I don't do fancy.

Personally I think it tastes kind of skunky, same with Heineken and Becks.  I like craft beers, especially a nice porter or stout but if going more main stream brews I will take a Yuengling, Bass, Guinness (Stout) and occasionally, *gasp* can't believe I am going to admit to this, if it is really hot out and sunny, I'll drink a Miller Lite because beers with more body to them seem to be just a bit too heavy.  At that point it's more like drinkin a sodie pop.

I apologize then, but really all I was saying was why @Buckeyenut would want to know and probably why others omit it, Also I'm not trying to impose any standard on course difficulty to anyone, play wherever you want I don't care.

Yeah, but Stella is just for fancy courses and I don't do fancy.

Even the not-so-fancy courses are carrying it on tap now up here in the Boston area. After buying Bud, they started pushing it.

Stella is OK when you've just played 18 in 90F weather. It is refreshing but not my first choice as a normal draught. After playing 18 on Tuesday in 55F weather, we went to a bar that had Newcastle on tap. That was nice.

Yeah but you didn't mention that Florida winter is a cruel and hard 5 weeks with some occasional frosty ground.  Played Chi Chi Rodriguez yesterday morning, fun little track.

Chi Chi's can be fun.  Isn't that a par 69 or something?  Been a long time since I've played there.  Played a scramble there back in the 90's.

Yes it is a par 69. Has some holes that make you think, lots of doglegs. It was a good time.

I said that jokingly because since my son took to bowling, I've become a non-golfer when it comes to winter golf.   Today was sunny and 66 with light winds.........and I bowled!!  LOL

    • I’ve been using Live paired with my iPhone without major issue the last 10 rounds or so. I’ve been starting the device, then pairing to the app so I can use the GPS if needed. Occasionally, the app will not know what hole I’m on for distances or I have to manually go to that hole. However, at the end, I’m able to edit the round on my phone with no issues. I then can open the round on my iPad and edit further if needed.
    • The videos can be interesting and instructive, but they can also pull you away from what is best for you to work on to improve. You can think of them as quick fixes and it can actually hurt your progress. Best advice is to work with a good instructor and practice smart to improve.
    • The speaker is referring to weight toward the toes or heel when they say front and back. As for the second part, the player on the right is a little more vertical at set up and early extends on the downswing. Early extension means you straighten up sooner than you should losing hip rotation speed and power. The right elbow can also get stuck behind your side.There are several ways to work on this, but without seeing your swing, it would be hard to comment. 
    • I'm watching this video and he mentions "he got himself a little more out onto the front of his feet" and "he's got himself more centred in to back of his feet" in the other comparison https://youtu.be/S8dkDx8YVkI?t=242  Does that mean he puts more weight on the front of his feet than the back?   One more question: how do you create more space for the right arm during impact as mentioned here? He's more tipped over which allows this , I think http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8dkDx8YVkI?t=280 Would reducing how much your right forearm can rotate clockwise help with this, duringthe end of your backswing?
