While I was swinging slowly this morning I decided to swing with the hybrid to see why i have been slicing it and the driver. I noticed that the club head was going

outside of my hands at P6. So I took some swings keeping the club on the line or a little inside at P6. I see that the back of my left hand is facing

the ball direction. I assume this is correct and if so I also assume that the club will close on the ball automatically at full speed.

Correct?

Like this? Yes, the left hand will "square up" by A7.

While practicing this today with an iron and a driver I noticed a louder swish. Is letting the club get outside the hands a power leak?

Yes it can be.

Played 18 this morning. It was not pretty. Scored a 107. I did not expect much since I think this change is major.

I had fat, thin, shanks, and a few good. There was one point where I could not even make a practice swing correctly.

Back to practice.

I re-watched my Evolvr analysis video. My coach said to start shifting my weight forward even before I completed my back swing. He also said to not make it exaggerated or cartoonish and do not move the hips all at once but gradually throughout my down swing.

I tried moving my hips forward before the top of my back swing without being able to see what I was doing, It felt really

good and I was able to impact the carpet where the ball would be every time. But when I did it in front of a mirror

it looked cartoonish and exaggerated.

I will be going to the range in the morning and making a video.

Yeah it probably won't look that crazy when you go to hit a ball, even if it feels exaggerated.

Hit a large bucket at the range today. Was encouraged there with batter ball contact and flight. But very discouraged when I looked at the recordings I took

when I got home.  I can take what looks to me like good practice swings but when I take my swing at the ball I revert back to my squat bow legged

stuff.

This first video shows what looks to me like some good practice swings followed by a bad real swing.

This is a driver swing the sent the ball straight and far but looks like a horrible swing to me. I think I am going to have to put up my net at home so I can hit balls.

All I do at home and at the office is take swings with no ball. My problem is when I get up to a ball my swing goes to crap.

I think I found something very important from my videos from the range yesterday. A brownie point to the first who can identify this swing fault.

OK times up. It's called Early Extension. I thought someone would recognize it. :-)

TPI says that 70% of amateurs do it and 99% of pros don't.

http://www.mytpi.com/articles/swing/early_extension_swing_characteristic

I have been doing my Evolvr drills with my butt up against

something now to address this issue.

I think this will really help my ball striking.

I think this early extension drill that I've added into my practice is really going to improve my swing when I can ingrain into my swing. My swing feels so much simpler now. I'm pretty sure I've had the backswing going pretty good now my downswing was the issue. This just feels like I'm turning my hip and everything else is just coming along behind it. It feels much less complicated than what I was doing before.

I am going to build this in my backyard. It is 10x10x10. It made out of 1 1/2 PVC pipe and PVC furniture grade connectors. The netting(the expensive part)

was donated to me be a very good friend.  Like I said in a previous post I need to hit real golf balls.

Nice! I've built something like this, and never regretted it.

That's interesting.. Can you tell us more about this? How many pvc and connectors? Cost? Time to build? DOYO or you will hire someone to do it? Looks cool! How much is the netting?

Seems like an awful lot of space compared to a regular net. Is the roof going to be solid to provide shade/rain protection? The diagram seems to indicate yes but the angle makes it uncertain

Looks from the diagram there are 14 connectors and 140' (14 10' lengths) of PVC. Should cost a little over $100 without the netting. Good netting is expensive. Archery netting is like $100 for a 10x10 piece.

Ah ok.. I guess I was just confused from the picture and thought that all those little lines in between the big PvC are also PvC but I guess maybe it's netting? I figured the net was not in the picture and it would be strung up inside the PvC. Thanks for clarifying.

So, I made mine out of steel because we have seasonally strong winds that blow 55mph or more around here (Santa Ana).

I have cross members using steel cable and some tension adjustments.

This is where I got the plans and they also sell all the PVC connectors which are furniture grade.

http://www.formufit.com/pvc-golf-cage-frame/

@billchao you are correct in saying the netting is the expensive part. My friend gave me some good golf netting but it is not enough to

cover this whole. I might end up buying the complete net that fits this. It cost $199.00.

The connectors from Formufit cost about $45.00. And I need 14 10' sch 40 PVC 1 1/2.

This is where I saw the netting for $199.00 http://www.gourock.com/golfcages_multi-use.html

They are supposed to be the best place to get any kind of netting.

I will have this made in the next week or so and will post a picture.
