Hi guys,

I've been around the forum for a while, but mostly reading rather than posting anything - didn't think I could contribute much, to be honest! I bought Lowest Score Wins a while back and really enjoyed reading it, particularly the analysis on Shot Zones. My golf history is pretty straightforward; I played a fair bit as a teenager, before University meant that the clubs stayed at home. About last Easter (conveniently, just after the Masters...), I decided that I was just sitting around the house too much and wanted to start playing properly again. I joined a little club around the corner, had a couple of lessons and got my first ever handicap at 12.6 - never wanted one as a junior! Things have kicked on a bit further, and I'm now pretty happy with my game, apart from the driver. I'm just in the middle of joining a new club as well, so I'm sure more lessons will come soon as I find more things to work on!

Anyway, really looking forward to finding out more about everything, and getting to know you all :)

Welcome to TST! Glad you enjoyed the book.

Do you get to play much during the winter months where you live?

Wow, speedy reply, and from the man himself! Yeah, quite a bit actually - I'm lucky enough to be based in Surrey where there are a load of great courses with excellent greenkeeping teams, so many of the courses are playable near enough all year round. Failing that, there's always the range, although I did manage to break a 3 wood on an icy ball a couple of days back :(.

Seriously, the book is fantastic - well worth the cost to get it over to the UK. Keep up all the good stuff you guys are doing!

hey,

You aren't a million miles from me.

Hindhead is a lovely course if you're referring to that as your 'little club round the corner'

Just starting to turn a little cold for golf this past couple of days in our part of the world but hopefully wont last long.

Nice a to see a fellow UK newbie!

Nope, Hindhead's the new one - at least, it should be once I sort out a time to meet with the powers that be there. Fantastic course though - it was a toss up between there and Camberley Heath and Hindhead won that hands down once I'd played both courses.
