Hey when you get this iron can you make a nice review. Im still deciding betwen the mp67, mp32 and the TM Rac mb.

You'll notice what I'm currently playing. I'm not switching quite so much because I want different clubheads but because I'd like to try different shafts.

I check your page and I see you dont have any review for mizuno irons. Why is that?

Because they don't spend much time or effort doing PR. Same with Ping. We can't review what we're not asked to review.

Current thinking is: MP-67 with Project X Flighted 6.0-ish.

I'm sure you can order MP-67 with Project X Flighted through Mizuno's Custom Department. I don't think that they'll sell only the irons heads though. But do let me know if you could grab them somehow.

What's in the bag:
Driver: r7 SuperQuad 10.5° ~ UST Proforce V2 65g Regular
Wood: 906F4 18.5° ~ Aldila VS Proto 80g Stiff
Irons: MP-60 3-PW ~ True Temper Tour Concept S3
Wedges: Vokey Oil Can 252.08, SM56.10 & SM60.08Putter: Marxman Mallet 33"

Well I talk to a mizuno rep the other day telling him that I want mizuno irons with project x flighted and he told me that mizuno doesn't use the flighted version of project x, so I call mizuno and they told they dont make their irons with this shaft. In order to have one you need to get only the heads and go to a Authorise Royal Presicion Store to shaft your heads with the PX flighted.

What is in my Ping bag:
Driver: R7 425 9.5*Fujikura Vistapro 70 stff
3Wood: An old 15* Graphite Stiff.
5Wood: R7 ST 18* Mid point RE-AX 70 Stff
7Wood: Tight lies 21* Graphite StffIrons: An old set of EYE2+ 4-PW Steel StiffWedge: vokey SM 54*10 and 60*08Putter: Studio Style Newport 1.5Balls...

That's too bad. Where can you buy only the heads, anyway?

I played the T-Zoid Pro and then the MP-33 but I wasn't abe to play enough to play a blade and be as consistent with the 33s so I went back to the MX-23s. I friend of mine plays MP-60s which are more similar to the MP-32's except with a cavity. The MP-67s are like the 33s except with the cut muscle. You're a good player so of the two, I would go with the 67s. I like the 67s over the 32s personally.

I inquired with my pro about getting MP-67 heads for the purpose of putting PX Flighted shafts in. Here's the response the local Mizuno rep sent:

We will not ship just the heads as we are not a component company. We insist on shafting everything ourselves since we know what works best, and how it needs to be trimmed to ensure optimal performance. We will, however, ship them uncut and ungripped (grips loose in the box) with whatever headweight he wants (based on length) so that the heads are the right weight for what he is looking to do. We can also bend the lies for him at the factory if he needs any of those adjustments made.

That's what I thought, they won't sell the head clubs by themselves. And WOW! What a through explanation as of why they don't offer the Project X Flighted version.

so are you going to look for a different set of irons to put your shafts on, or just get other shafts on the mizunos?

Likely just go with the PX rather than PXF. Bummer that you've got to pay for shafts of some kind even if you're just gonna yank 'em and put them in anyway. I guess I can trust Mizuno to deliver shafts fairly close to 6.0 if I say 6.0...

Nothing, really. The shafts hit the ball just a smidge too high and I've wanted to give Mizuno heads a try for a few years no.

Actually, I'm not sure you can. I have had many friends take their clubs to guys like Eduardo only to find out the shafts were not frequency matched at all. One friend took some Project X shafted clubs to a custom shop for checking, and found his 5.5 shafts varied from 4.4 to 7.0 from the manufacturer! Also the lies varied from 2 deg flatter than order to 3 deg more upright and in no particular oder! I want someone like AZgolf to build or at least check my new clubs before they go into the bag.

Wow thanks Iacas that explination is better that the one who give me the mizuno rep I talk about. He just told me mizuno doesn't build their clubs with PX Flighted, and it was the same when I talk to the operator on mizuno. If thats the reason im going with the Project X instead.

The same Mizuno rep told me that they're typically +/- 0.1.

Royal Precision does not frequency match the shafts in Project X in their manufacturing process, thus we don't frequency match them in installation.

WOW..... I am very surprised to see a response like that from someone at Mizuno. There are so many false facts in that reply that I dont even know where to begin. The company has players on tour that use PXF. Altering the CG in a head in no way makes it "flighted". You will end up spending alot of money to get a Mizuno set with PFX because they need to be custom built. By custom built I dont mean buy the irons and just replace the shafts with PXF. You need to go to a facility where they get PXF blanks. This way they can build your irons to the exact flex and swingweight you like. This can cost alot though..... more than most are willing to pay.

Now I'm beginning to think that Project X might not be a good shaft to install on. Perhaps it's better to stick with Dynamic Gold, iacas?
