Must be the glute(n)-free diet. Rimshot!

For 27 minutes of Golf Central last night, I still had no clue who was leading the Tournament. No-Tah as Rolfing likes to say put it best when he stated; " This is not world class and Tiger would admit it". Gannon had a great response to the Tiger impromptu speech in the parking lot, "I do not understand that last statement and I have never heard of an athlete using those words".

I thought Brandel was going to hand Kelly "Let's hang 'em" " Tighlman a hanky.

Golf as we know it right now. Look at the Farmer's thread. All Tiger. Middle aged guys totally obsessed about a guy who doesn't care one bit about them. Kind of ironic, isn't it. Here is the best part. I'm watching Bloomberg News just now and the Tiger WD story scrolls down that huge sidebar they have. Three blurbs.

1.Tiger Withdraws from Tour Event

2.Tiger Cites back Injury

(insert drumroll)

3. Tiger Still Trails Jack Nicklaus Majors 18-14

Saw that and laughed out loud.

The next time my wife tells me to get off my @$$ and do somet hing around the house, I'm telling her my glutes deactivated and I just can't get them to activate again.  I've tried as best I could but they just won't stay activated.

My guess is that load of crap won't fly with her any more than it is flying with everyone else with regard to Tiger.  It's pretty lame.

Maybe he needs to hire Jennifer Lopez as a golf coach...she has NO problem activating her glutes at will.  0-60 in a split second.

Glute deactivation in the bedroom can the be the first sign of marital troubles.

I'm pretty sure Tiger is messing with the media and just seeing what ridiculous things he can get them to print/believe. I for one am all for it.

Today, I've learned another excuse I can use after my golf round, not to mention the word "glute."   Chuckle.

Apparently rampant promiscuity is directly related to being able to activate your glutes at a moments notice.  Time to head back to the Waffle House.

If Elin's glutes hadn't started deactivating on me I never would have gone to that Perkins* and we wouldn't be in this mess.

    • Day 27 - 2026-01-16 Played 18 with some of the usual "too many voices" going on when I'm working on swing stuff. Fun to get out in great bay area winter weather.
    • I know one recent college grad who's trying the same thing.  This guy was a Division III All-American, went on to play one year at Division I LSU, and is not working hard.  He won the Gulf States Open, a pro event, and made it to the second stage of the Korn Ferry Tour School late in the fall.  And didn't make the cut to get to the final stage.  I won't talk about swing or play stuff, but I believe there are a couple of things that are essential.  Obviously, talent, and drive, or work ethic.   I can't tell you how to do it, but you HAVE to get through it.  Golf is going to be your life, and it takes lots of work. Two more things that are really critical.  You'll need the facility to be able to practice.  My young friend stayed in Baton Rouge, as a past player on the team he can still use the LSU practice facilities.  And money.  Its unlikely you'll be able to work a full-time job and practice the way you will need to.  You'll probably need backing, from a parent, from a consortium of friends or club members., something to support you. Good luck, its not an easy path, but anything is possible.  Another young man from our area, Mike Brennan, just won for the first time on the "big" PGA Tour.
    • No one in the world is as smart as Phil thinks he is.
    • Get more comfortable with being uncomfortable. If you don’t like practicing then give up now. You don’t have the passion to become a pro. Unless that mentality changes you won’t do well under stressful situations.    Call the PGA Tour and ask. They probably have resources available.
