I know this question has been stirring in the loins of all you forum members. The question need to be addressed and answered once and for all……………… Who is the better Leonard?

Leonard Nimoy or Justin Leonard

Although from two different vocations, each are adorned by their respective fans. Lets us review:

They both were accomplished:

Leonard Nimoy was an accomplished musician, theater performer and film actor

Justin Leonard is an accomplished golfer having 12 PGA wins including one major

Leonard Nimoy worked alongside some the industry’s greatest actors: Bill Shatner and DeForest Kelley

Justin Leonard played alongside the greats like Fred Couples, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson

Leonard Nimoy hosted and narrated a fantastic show called, “in Search Of”

Justin Leonard is developing a fantastic new golf course in Texas called the Old American Golf Club

They both had some shortcomings:

Leonard Nimoy would often join the filming crew on the Star Trek Movies after having a few cocktails

Justin Leonard went a little “off-the-handle” in the 1999 Ryder Cup with that outrageous celebration after making that monster putt

Leonard Nimoy was control freak which made him angry on the set of films

Justin Leonard, to my knowledge, never played in the Qatar Masters

After much thought, I give the nod to Justin Leonard for 2 reasons:

  1. He won a golf major at the British Open

  2. He was the better man having to endure the “uncomfortable circumstances” involving a “certain caddie” during the Augusta Masters that we will refer to only as the “the incident.”

The question need to be addressed and answered once and for all.

Who is the better Leonard?    Leonard Nimoy or Justin Leonard

Between those two choices it is Leonard Nimoy.

However, for me, there is a third choice, Leonard Bernstein.

Live long and prosper. :-)

This one: Cuz he bagged this:

"The expert golfer has maximum time to make minimal compensations. The poorer player has minimal time to make maximum compensations." - And no, I'm not Mac. Please do not PM me about it. I just think he is a crazy MFer and we could all use a little more crazy sometimes.

OK, I will play. From an entertainment stand point, Leonard Nimoy gets my vote. He was more entertaining for a much long period of time. I can't remember the last time (until now) since I heard anything about Justin Leonard. Nimoy also had a military career for a while. I think he made sargent before his enlistment was up. Besides his Spock role, he was also a film director, poet, singer, did charity work, and was also an accredited  photographer. As far as I know Justin Leonard was just a golfer, (TV entertainer) who did some charity work, which of course is also very commendable on his part.

Actually I don't think either one was a "better man" than the other. Nimoy just accomplished more during his life time. Probably made more money too.

Of course at one time, Sugar Ray Leonard may have been more popular than the other two.

After a quick search for "famous Leonards" it seems there aren't many out there. Have to go with Nimoy on this one, Justin Leonard never impressed me.

Interesting. I never liked Justin Leonard either. Maybe it was the Polo garb and the attitude?

I just jumped over to check out the message board at Justin’s website. Lots of action going over there. I think his wife is his business manager? Justin’s brother, Phil Leonard fell off the toilet last night and hurt his knee. Justin had to take him to the emergency room. Everything is okay. He’s going to make it. Justin will be wearing a blue ribbon on his hat to keep Phil in his thoughts.

What about Leonardo da Vinci? He's such a good Leonard, he even has an extra letter to spare.

Spelled in an unusual manner, but " Lynyrd Skynyrd" could be added into the mix.

Let’s not forget Peter Lonard, the Aussie golfer. I think he played in the Qatar Masters so he’s cool.

Or Leonardville, MD. They have a Scotch and Sirloin Restaurant there, so it’s got to be a nice place.

I'm bumping this thread just because it's absurdly entertaining. Well that and I love the pictures of KC.
