Cleveland, OH. We usually get 6-7 solid monts. April is usually OK, can be rainy though at time. Sometimes we get march, sometiems we done. Generally October is OK to play, sometimes novermber is. One year we played 2 days before XMas in 50 and sunny weather. Generally April through October is OK for golf. As long as you dont mine temps around 45-55 sometimes.

The realistic season in West Virginia is 8-9 months. That said, I've played at least a couple times every month since I started in August 2006. Any day in the winter that's above 40 and not too windy I'll go if the conditions permit.

Posted
I figure on about 8 months of golf weather. I have been out in March the last couple of years and I got out in november last year. But the problem usually is you lose a month of 'good' golf in april or so because it is rainy

I marked 9-11, but it can be longer or shorter depending on snow cover. We have lots of winter days when it's warm enough to play, but snow covers the course, or days when the course is clear but it's just too cold. No way to predict how a given winter is going to turn out.

Ditto. About the same here in Erie.

April, May, June, July, August, September, October. Some play in March and some in November, mixed in with some in December, January, and sometimes even February... but usually calling golf in those months "golf" is a stretch.

I live where Fourputt lives. This is the first year I've been serious enough to want to play through the winter. I'm hoping to get out every month, but like he said it can be pretty unpredictable. Last year we had snow on the ground for probably 3 months straight.

I live in Central California and we get 12 months of golf. The coldest winter temps mean slightly latter tee times so the frost can melt off the greens.

Oklahoma is good for 9-11 months. I think it is the cheapest state for golf in the US but be prepared for hardpan surfaces and a humid 102 degrees in the summer.

Tampa Florida and we play all year round. Storm season is more detrimental to our playing time then temperature. Also living in the Lighting capital of the world makes playing in the afternoons a challenge.

Depends how hardy you are, but for most, I'd say April through October. I noticed the other day there's a course around here that has one scramble tournament scheduled each month through the Winter, but I wouldn't call that "in season." On the other hand, some might argue that July and August aren't really golf months for the opposite reasons.

The real estate people in the Upstate area of South Carolina and western North Carolina tell you 12 months of golf - you might be able to play some part of every week but it takes a pretty strong desire in January and February. I marked 11 months - but I usually try and take the "Flordia swing" in February.

It is probably good for the body to rest a bit anyway!

In Albuquerque we play 365 days a year. Once in a great while we get a snowstorm that keeps us off the course for a day or two. Although last year we had the worst storm ever on record and the course closed for 21 days. For those horrible 3 weeks we had to drive an hour south of town to play.
We have great weather though, no summer days over 99 degrees, mild winter temperatures, and low humidity. I just hope the massive snowstorms stay away for another 75 years.
