  1. 1. Would you be comfortable playing golf with a stranger who you knew was carrying a loaded revolver in their bag?

    • Yes. I am perfectly comfortable with that

    • No. I would ask to be placed in a different group.

    • Maybe. I would take my first impression of them and use that as a guide.

Probably wouldn't enjoy their company. Tend to roll my eyes at the scaredy cat types. So even if I didn't know chances are we wouldn't have much in common.

So people that concealed carry are "scaredy cat" types?

Remember all, you know they have a weapon.  Not sure how you found out, but you know.

Well, if I happened to see it in his bag (while he's grabbing another ball or water bottle) then yeah, probably a little freaked out. But then again, living in Canada, ordinary citizens wandering around packing heat is a little foreign to my experience. I just find the whole concept a little odd.

Yours in earnest, Jason.

That means they either told me, which is strange but commendably respectable, in a way, or I noticed it somehow, in which they're shit at the whole "concealed carry" thing.

Or the topic came up somehow and you jokingly asked him knowing he'd say no, then

Voted maybe, it would really depend on how I felt about the person. I'm comfortable around guns, its people that freak me out.

I only drive about 180, but I make up for by not hitting my wedges well.

I went with no.  Guns do not scare me, but a person that I do not know carrying a loaded gun around me would make me a bit nervous

Exactly, if the guy carrying seems like he's looking for confrontation out on the course and we have all seen that I think I would excuse myself from the group.

You'll have to teach me how to know exactly when and where a situation will develop that will require me to defend myself. Sadly, I haven't learned that skill yet. Or is it simply that you believe in your own right to legally carry where and when you want to, but not in the rights of others to make the same decisions for themselves?

I didnt see where he said he didn't believe in others right to carry, just that he has the background to form an opinion on them based on when are where they choose to carry. Personally, I couldn't do it ... I don't even like swinging with my phone or even an extra ball in my pocket. No wallet either. No way in hell I'd be comfortable with a 5 lb (how much do guns weigh anyway?? I have no idea) hunk of metal strapped to my side. I barely tolerate the game golf and that damn thing is 4cm square and like 6 oz.

Do I really need to point the tranquility of the course out to you?

Well, easy one for me. Not only 'no', but I will also try to call the police. In Holland this is highly illegal and pretty much only criminals carry firearms with them since there aren't even any 'stores' for guns. We do have some clubs, but you're not allowed to carry the weapon with you. Or the dude must be some kind of secret service agent...

No problem at all with it.  Unless he points it at me.  Then I'll pull out my gun and shoot him.

Do I really need to point the tranquility of the course out to you?

A. Bad things happen in "tranquil" places all the time. That's how this thread actually came to be. B. You have the absolute right to decide if, when, and where you legally carry. To "roll your eyes" and refer to someone as a "scaredy cat" because they choose to do so somewhere where you choose not to, is arrogant hypocrisy at its worst.
