When your golf partner accidentally knocks his ball off the tee say to him; "that's one stroke" and then tell him the PGA rules don't permit him to re-tee his ball. Then run!

I play maybe half my rounds with strangers, usually at public courses. I'm not really that social but I do enjoy meeting guys over golf. Most guys are pretty fun and have great humor. Still, I don't rub too hard. On a rare occasion, I have played with an a**h***, but likely less than 7 times. One time a young guy joined us on the first tee, and for some reason we started talking about Travino. This guy says "I played with Travino once. He is an a**h***!" Well, about 2 holes later I realized just who the a**h*** was. I'd bet Lee is quite adept at getting under some jerks skin.

Especially those who don't know how to spell his name. Jack Nicholas is the same.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Ha. I'd expect a retort from the Mary Mex, its in his DNA. But I doubt he'd be offended.

If that was on purpose it is kind of funny but I doubt it was.

The only problem with your game is that you're standing too close to the ball ... after you've hit it.

Your golf game is so bad you'll need to have your ball retriever regripped

I once told a guy I was caddying for (he had a good sense of humor and didn't take the game seriously) when he was having a bad day, "How about tennis?"   when he asked me what he should do on 16.

On the 4th hole after my playing partner had played the first three at 1 under I said "when are the wheels going to fall off" he promptly drove his tee shot into the water and has never forgot that comment. I wasn't trying to throw him off I was just saying what was on my mind. A dangerous thing sometimes.

Wow, that was pretty potent!

Only a few years of graduates were afflicted by this. . .

Unfortunately, not completely. . .just in places where people need solid communications skills***. What's funny is that these same people are being taught that arithmetic is also an unnecessary skill, and if they work in the convenience food industry will have trouble calculating the change in their head+++. For example, if you give them $6.12 on a $5.62 order give you back a dime or a dollar. :-D

***This is coming from someone who is seriously lacking them too!

+++In any other part of the world, they can calculate it in a fraction of a second. For example, I was getting food from a street hawker in rural China, and the guy hands me my change and a personalized hand written receipt within a 15-20 second transaction.

In college, I made extra dough umpiring local high school baseball games.....i can't help it, but every time I see a pop-up of the driver/3 wood,  I immediately yell....."infield fly..batter's out and runners advance at their own risk"

can't help it......only to guys i am comfortable with though.......

For that scenario, I prefer ... "that one's like an elephant's butt ... high and stinky"

The worst thing somebody can say to me on the golf course when I'm looking over a 2-1/2 footer is "I'll give you that" ... just seems to put extra pressure on me & I miss it more often than I would otherwise for whatever reason.    Then they always say, I gave you that, you're good.   Yeah, right.

WHY DON"T YOU SHUT YOUR BIG YAPPER and let me putt without all the quasi-gentlemans gimme's - really really hate that.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
