Sorry for the half-ass answer but: The drill is good if it addresses your priority issue but will be a waste of time or worse if it doesn't. What are you trying to fix?

Yep, then that's a good one. Squeezing a small soccer ball or something between elbows/forearms can be a good one for that too.

You can get the same effect with a glove, tee or even your shirt.  There was a PGA pro a few years back that would grab a bit of his shirt on either side, below the sleeve and pull it into his armpit.  He did this for every shot.

I found the towel to be too bulky and distracting.  I first used a glove, then did this shirt trick. The best thing is you can do it on the course.

It's mostly a good drill. Just don't keep your trail elbow glued to your side, the connection is just maintained in the upper part of the tricep.

I´m practising this a lot, with two tees. I feel my swing more compact, and don´t let the arms travel alone once I´ve hitted tha ball. It´s more like the swing of Fowler. Now I´m trying to feel the same even with my driver, and, yesterday the results were fantastic. Hope it lasts.
