I had my ace at Kingsmill in VA. The golf course gave me a pin flag with the hole number, yardage, and the club I used. They also offered me a nice plaque with a picture of the hole on it ( I had to pay for that) I went on theTitleist web site since I was using a ProV1 and the sent me a nice bag tag as was mentioned above. I was using Taylormade irons so I contacted them by email and the sent me a sleeve of balls with a note that said "In honor of your ace, here are three of our balls...wishing you another hole in one using one of these" I'm sure that they didn't mean it to sound snarky but it seemed like they were not as happy that I made a hole in one with 8 year old Taylormade irons as they would have been if I'd aced one of their balls instead of a new Titleist. Curious, what course and hole number you were on when you got yours. Anyway, congratulations, I know it's an awesome feeling.

Hole #7 Eagle Springs Resort.  Its 140 yard down hill par 3.

This Is a view from the side of the green.  The tee box up on a hill looking left in the photo.  I always play a 1/2 club to a club long off the hill to the right of the photo.  It feeds back towards the middle of the green and takes the bunker out of play.  If your lucky it feeds back into the hole

Congrats, so is this a hole you have come close to acing before? From what I have heard from a lot of people who have had them is it's on a hole they have good success on. 30+ years and never had one other than a lip out albatross but the par 3 I'm having good luck with is pretty awesome at 175 yards downhill with a sliver green behind a enormous bunker down entire right side.

Ive had a few roll by but never close. Its so dependent on the pin position.  I always play the shot at that bank but if the pin is left or right a few feet of where it was when I hit my shot I have a 10 ft birdie putt.  Its a lot of luck not to have it kick one way or the other to miss the hole by quite a bit.

The best part about the whole thing was I wasn't even supposed to be playing that course.  My buddy was supposed to take me to play on his private course but he over slept (had a few to many the night before).  So I decided to go here instead.  My wife asked if she could walk along since I was going to be playing alone.  I said sure of course ;-) .  We were waiting for the group in front of us on almost every hole and there was a guy and his 2 grandsons behind us.  When we got to #6 tee he asked if they could skip ahead to #7 ahead of me cause it was going to be there last hole (I think he had enough of the waiting and the heat).  I said yes and played #6.  When I got to #7 tee they were waiting to tee off.  He asked me if I wanted to tee off with them so I wouldn't have to wait.  I said yes and the rest is history as they say.  It was cool cause the four some ahead of us was on the tee box above the green and saw it as well.

Nice picture and perspective of how you carried the bunker to the green and played the sloped. Not an easy shot! Glad you took the model out of the picture :-P

Ha ha that picture is on the course website.  They didn't have my consent to put my posterior on their website. :-P It actually is a pretty easy shot.  A lot of room long, right or left if your paying attention to LWS and aiming for the middle of the green.

Crap. My LSW (you said it left handed) is on its way, but probably won't work then because I flag hunt most shots! Probably why my HC is up there.

    • You get a penalty stroke because your local committee didn't do their job, they didn't address the specific conditions using the tools available to them within the Rules.  The rulemakers contemplated just this situation, bunkers being so filled with Temporary Water that they're unplayable.  The only way to address it "fairly" is to allow free relief outside the bunker, and they do NOT want to allow that on an everyday basis.  So they write the rules as it is, and allow the Committee to override the normal rule in the rare instance where the bunker really is full.  That's what your "local league" does, they invoke Model Local Rule F-16, which treats flooded bunkers as both GUR and as General Area.  Relief from GUR in the General Area allows relief in the General Area (i.e. outside the re-defined bunker).  Its quite a logical way to approach a relatively rare situation. Separately, consider your concern about temporary Water in the fairway.  I've seen situations in relatively level fairways where the Nearest Point of Complete Relief  from Temporary Water is 30 or 40 yards away, further from the green, even in the rough.
    • There you go, @yungbuck6. Your hips aren’t really shifted forward and your head tips back. The camera angle isn’t good so what looks like hip slide could actually just be extension towards the ball.
    • But there's more to weight shift than just where you finish. How your weight transfers throughout the swing matters too.  But you're saying you can see it better than a device that can measure it? Got it.  Yeah I'm good here, good luck to whoever tries to coach you.
