Just curious what's your personal best. Mine was 330 metres (360.89 yards) total, downhill, no wind, hard fairways during autumn.

Right around 230 yards (about 220 in the air). That was really good for me, although a lot of credit goes to the conditions at the time. Normally I'm in the 200 - 210 range when I'm hitting it well.

Bag: Some big, honkin', ridiculous overkill of an Ogio cart bag with more pockets than I have teeth.

330 yards. I had 25 yards to the pin on a hole that measures 380 yards. It's a very slight dogleg (10 degrees or so) and the pin was just up from center (say, five yards tops), so that's my best guess.

In the air? not sure but after the roll I have ended 330 yards on a down hill par 4. I was just left of the green on the fringe. Best feeling you can have. My partner though Hit his drive past the hole! I Usually hit my drives no farther that 260.

Mine was 380, down hill, down wind. I actually did not hit it that well and hit it a little high, but that actually helped due to the wind. I was 160 out on a Par 5 after that one.

My longest without any assistance from wind or hills was 270.

No, not in the air. Probably about 300 in the air, honestly. It's a flat hole, too - I've hit longer drives on downhill holes, but I don't consider counting those fair.

No wind the day I hit that drive, either.

380, downhill, downwind.

Flat surface longest drive was 315.

Average drive is about 270...

The farthest drive I've ever measured out, and by that I mean subtracted distance from the green from total hole length, was like 265 I think. That sucks.

Why does that suck? That's quite a respectable number, particularly for an amature (as a matter of fact, that's 5 yards longer than the PGA Tour average drive in 1993 - and those guys managed to score pretty well with that, I understand). You should be very proud!

2x 280 yard drives. Same hole, 6 or so months apart. Short par-5 (480 yards from the white tees) at my home course. First time, I botched a 3-Iron with the intent of chipping onto the green. Second time, I nailed a 3H to within chipping distance for GIR, hit a bad chip (but at least on!) and missed the birdie putt. At my handicap, though, I can't complain.

Avg drive 200-210.

330 by the GPS in the cart. I caught it pretty good. 500 yard par 5. Knocked it on and 2 putted for birdie. Of course I had plenty of doubles to even it out.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
    • I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
