Did anyone else end up wanting breakfast tomorrow morning?

I'll probably just grab something at the course...couldn't find anything close to the course that sounded good...

In looking at their menu and comparing it to Panera (best I could find nearby), I think I may do the same.

Edit One other thing, unrelated to breakfast.  Does our fee include range balls?  If not, we should figure out sharing.  $6 for 30 balls as warmup, versus $10 for 90.  Especially since many of us only want to hit 20-25 before a round.

Great to see everyone today, I know our group had a lot of fun out there.

Two teams tied for first with 66 points

@mvmac & @No Mulligans
and @tristanhilton85 (playing by himself because @Ringworld must have slept in ;-))

@Golfingdad and @Shindig finished with 64 points and @Bechambo and @jefkve finished with 58 points.

@Golfingdad had it going on the front, was even par after 6 holes.

@Shindig hit about every fairway today.

@No Mulligans was my partner and he made a birdie for a net eagle on 9.

What a fantastic event.  I love these outings.

I did hit just about every fairway, and the few I missed, I missed barely (with the exception of that final par-4 with the weird tee line).  More importantly, I hit the ball long and not into trouble -- even my lies in the rough were pretty decent.

I hope everyone else had a great time too.

Yes, and this was my first bad shot.  Tee shot on 7, and I hit the ground before the ball and put it in the hazard on the right, managed a double bogey from there.

Fall_outing_7.thumb.jpg.901c5675855bc629

This was on 10.  Not sure if this was my first shot, where I got a little off balance on my toes and shanked it into the hill to the right of the hole, or if this was my third where I hit it to pin high, 18 feet right of the pin.  Missed the putt and carded my third double in 4 holes.:~(

This is the last green (par 5), and the ball on the left is Mike's after two great shots.  The second was, I believe, a hybrid, from here:

Fall_outing_9.thumb.jpg.a7dddc64dd4e4b0d

(He just missed the eagle attempt, and finished with a 4" tap in birdie.) :)  The ball on the right in that photo is mine after 4 shots.  However, I was in some brush off the tee and tried a lefty pitchout that failed and then a regular pitchout.  So, I actually got to that point with this swing:

Fall_outing_12.thumb.jpg.2d8d2c9730a1548

Which was a 6 iron from 174.  Overall, I was pretty happy with my round.  Two of my double bogies can be written off to horrendous swings that rarely happen, and the third was caused by a lack of turning, which is what I'm actively working on now.  And all of my bad holes were caused by tee shots.  (If I was playing a course that didn't have hazards on either side of nearly every hole this would have been a career round.) Every hole where I had a shot at a GIR with an iron in my hand, I hit the green, except for the first hole, where I missed by 6" and was 20' away.

More importantly, had a great time in the heat playing with everybody again, as well as meeting @nomulligans. Can't wait for the next one!

I feel so bad.  I honestly thought that the event was today.  Come to find out I was mistaken.  OMG.  Sorry for not making it guys!

    • MSN Glover expressed his dissatisfaction with what he termed as 'cool kid meetings' between Jordan Spieth, Patrick Cantlay, Tiger Woods and other high-profile golfers. "I think it's terrible," he stated. "And then hiding behind pace of play, I think, challenges our intelligence. They think we're stupid.     "Don't cut fields because it's a pace of play issue. Tell us to play faster, or just say you're trying to appease six guys and make them happy so they don't go somewhere else and play golf." Fitzpatrick joined the conversation on X (formerly Twitter), with the 30-year-old echoing Glover's sentiments regarding the PGA Tour changes. "He's so right," Fitzpatrick posted. "Pathetic that pace of play is spoken about every year and nothing ever gets done."     I agree. Instead of  penalizing  players for  turtle  play they appease the  slow jerks  by  cutting the  fields. They will play even slower  knowing they will NEVER be  penalized.
    • I've been Playing Golf for: 3 years  My current handicap index or average score is: 1.5 My typical ball flight is: neutral /slight draw The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: hook   Looking for some advice please folks. Started golfing three years ago and got hooked. Had some early lessons and was a slicer etc.  I used to have a severe inside takeaway and through working hard to fix as ever (this game…) it’s now gone too far the other way where I take it back way outside.  i think it looks really bad and have gotten a lesson last year where we tried to competely reset the swing and it ruined things for months as I couldn’t get it to stick (my fault).    anyway do I need to fix this? I hit it reasonably solid but don’t know what else I’m looking at or need to clean up. All opinions welcomed!  Videos:
    • A local film critic gave the movie “Wicked” a great review. I saw the stage musical several years ago (pre-COVID) and enjoyed it. Likely won’t see the cinematic version but one never knows. I probably will go to “Gladiator 2” at some point unless the reviews are terrible.
