This was a weird article...I'm not sure what the "fingers" thing is all about.

@Mr. Desmond - wrong thread.  The "medieval torture devices" thread is elsewhere on the site.

I actually just misunderstood the article and confused myself.  I knew that AimPoint uses the feet to measure slope, but the way the article was written made it sound like the "fingers" were the essence of the rules violation.

I think stepping on lines is the worry.

They had some discussion on this a few months ago.

This is a device for assisting with the determination of slope.

And you are close as to medieval - it's made in Italy... lol

If you think that's weird:

I want one.   Where do I get one?  I suppose I can make one myself.

I have been practicing Aimpoint's "feeling" the slope part.   I am consistently wrong (80% of the times on new greens).   I just don't have the "feel."   To get the most of the Aimpoint, I must chart the slopes beforehand.

Yep.

Pretty neat to practice slope in your kitchen. Put a glass away, get on the board, prepare food, get on the board, get a drink get on board.

About $100, made in Italy from fir-wood, light yet durable.

I already did my DIY job of the year -- replaced a rusted out garbage disposal -- had to hacksaw the neck, and then put in new disposal and clear out all visible plumbing. Had recently replaced all the internal parts in a toilet that had me using the hacksaw again...

Saved enough for my Fir Wood Toy... It's pretty neat and I think it is worth $110 because of the leveling, Made in Italia by former FIAT mechanics with the finest pool table green and dual levels. It also show you the optimal width between the feet.... you have to buy it to find out... lol

Obviously, the author doesn't know Aimpoint. You are not limited to one or two fingers.

I always thought this was weird. If you're in golf journalism, why wouldn't you take a class at least so you'd know what you were writing/commenting on?

Simple. They probably cranked out it out in less than 1hr based on another story. AP wants to crank out volumes of content, not spending time on actual research.
