http://www.golf.com/course-score-predictor/top-100-courses-in-the-world-2015 Kind of fun...but it is weird that they have you rate your skills from 1-10, rather than relative to one another (since they ask for your handicap).

Haha, 82 St Andrews and 83 at Augusta and Oakmont. I think St Andrews is pretty close cuz I shot 86 there 5 years ago with 5 3-putts and I'm a much better putter now. Can't imagine an 83 at Augusta, however. Anyway, fun little time-kill.

Yeah, rate your skills relative to what? A pro? The average weekend player? Another player of your hcp? Makes no sense to me so I left them all in the mid-range. 86's at Augusta and Oakmont and an 85 at St Andrews.

I laughed at rating my "weather adaptability".  I'm imagining what a "1" in that category means...as soon as it starts to rain, you just curl up into a little ball and cry?

They have me in the low 90s at all their listed courses. Of course that was using my left handed handicap. Sounds about right I suppose.

They have me as shooting 69 at St. Andrews, 68 at Royal Portrush, and 71 at Augusta. Something tells me that is more than a little off...

I rated my skills there compared to the average player, but when I tried again with scores adjusted to the people I play against in tournaments (similar handicaps), I got 72 at St. Andrews, 70 at Royal Portrush, and 73 at Augusta National. I still think that the system is flawed, because I know I wouldn't shoot those scores at those courses.

Augusta National has a course rating of 78.1 from their tournament tees. I'd be happy just to break 80 there. St. Andrews has a rating of 72.8 from their white tees (the tournament tees aren't listed from what I can tell), and Royal Portrush appears to have a rating of 75 based on their scorecard.

I think the problem is that the site doesn't take course rating into account. If the course rating were equal to the par on each course then the numbers I got would be closer to realistic than they are now. Going off course rating and my handicap I should shoot about a 74 at St. Andrews, a 76 at Royal Portrush, and a 79 at Augusta National.

EDIT: Hilariously enough, I looked at the "easiest 5" category and it thought I should shoot 62 at one of the courses. My personal best is 69 on a course rated at 72.4, and they expect me to shoot 62 at a course with a CR of 70 (it's a par 68, but still...)

Fun but definitely not realistic. I was conservative with my choices, 4 to 5ish for the ball striking ones and it has me shooting the same scores I do at the courses play 50x a year. I shot 83 last night and somehow I am supposed to do that at Augusta yeah right. My average score is 81.8 on a course I know like the back of my hand.

If I go by my GHIN HC I score over 100. If I go by my Game Golf HC I score 93 at St. Andrews.
