What'd You Shoot Today?

Recommended Posts

Shot 94 (50/44) on a 70.0/117 par 72.

Started with three bad drives, but slowly got into the groove. On the back nine I managed to put a string together of bogey, par, par, bogey, par, par. I have finally dialed in my distances with my new clubs which helps a lot. Turns out I am hitting them 10 yards longer than my previous ones.

I know one thing and that's that I will be chipping and putting this weekend.. My short game killed what could have been a <90 round.

won a match 7 and 5, +4 through 13; lost focus after i clinched match, ended up at 83.

good day

Best round so far this year 84. Only 3 bogies on the front for a 39. Hitting my driver great today. Got tired on the back and had a usual 45 with only 1 par.

Man I love this game, can't wait to break 80 ....

44 at my home course yesterday.

Drove it into the lake on #1 and missed a 30 inch putt for bogey on the last, the rest in between was pretty good. After #1, I hit every green in GIR +1 or better. Which is pretty good since I only hit one fairway.

Today I played the Blue Course at the University of Illinois for the first time since 1990. The trees have grown...slightly. The abilty of my pw to get up and over trees has been of great help lately.

I had it going in the middle of the round as I parred 5 out of 7 holes. Next time, I'm just playing the par 3s and 5s on this course. The ten 3s+5s I was +5 and I was +14 on the eight par fours.

Fairways: 4/13 (5 par 3s) and when I missed, it was bad both left and right

Played in a scramble today and my team shot a -15 ; 57. We ended up winning the tournament.

Shot 74 (37/37) [71.2/125]

Really felt good to get a solid round in. I've been dogging it the last few weeks averaging 78. I actually watched "The Golf Fix" this morning I recorded on Monday and picked up a couple tips that just clicked for me and my ball striking was very solid today.

I birdied #12 to get back to even and then proceeded to make two dumb bogey's in a row. I was +2 on the 16th tee which is a short(335yd) tight par 4. I normally do not hit driver but I was pressing to birdie two of the last three holes. I hit my best drive of the day and had 40 yards left to the pin. I failed to get up and down but pared the last two holes.

Cool thing was my 11 year old son was also playing great on the back nine and shot a 40. He had two double bogey's, one bogey, one birdie and the rest pars.

84 today... I hit some pretty good shots... what screwed my round was a double bogey in the 3th hole, double bogey in the 4th and triple bogey in the 16th hole.

Greetings!

A rather odd 78. Three double bogeys, otherwise not too bad. Twice on a simple pitch, I bladed it into really bad places (that will shatter your confidence in a hurry.)

My wife drove the cart and watched me play/read a magazine.

39-37 76
6 Fairways
5 Greens
26 Putts

I hit blocks all on the front 9, which made it impossible to hit some greens.
I started to hit my driver better on the back except on 18 which I hit a big snap hook and made bogey.
The holes were very weird on the back and went 90 degrees right/left often.
The greens stats are pretty deflated because I hit a lot of fringes today.
Played better than I scored, always a good thing.

100 (+31). Pretty happy with it TBH, because I've gotten better. The score doesn't reflect it because of my horrible driving, which I still haven't figured out. For now I'll be using the 3I off the tee, and continue to work on my woods at the range.

43 Putts, but only 21 on the back 9 (I played the front 9 14 days ago, then came back and finished the back 9 yesterday). My short game has improved tremendously - wedges, fringe chips, and also putting.

Obviously I'm not "good" yet, but my short game has improved leaps and bounds and I'm excited to keep working.

I'm just disgusted with the state of my game right now. I shot 49 for 9 holes today. I've got no distance on any of my shots and I've been avoiding the sweet spot on my driver on every single swing.

Of course it doesn't help that the weather remains absolutely terrible. I'm tired of playing in wind and wet and soft conditions. Really took it to the next level today though. SNOW. Friggin' May 31st and we quit after nine due to snow.

I played Doral Red yesterday. I hit the ball tee to green really well but my
putting was terrible. I three putted four green. Because I chipped in on
number 18 for a birdie. I was still able to break 80 and ended up with a 79
for the round. While breaking 80 was nice. Since I am a five handicap and
I was giving strokes to the other three members of the foursome. I ended
up losing money to each of them after the round was over and the scores
were totaled up.

5 over today...
absolutely everything was working today...
even started missing left (normally miss right) balls were going too straight...
driving was nice... had a few fades and a few draws... didnt lose any balls today...
puring hybrids and irons... misjudged some distances due to the ball going straight and farther than normal... overshot some greens...
chipping was really good... even did a few 5i chips that got relatively close to the hole...
putting was okay... shoulda had a few more 1 putts but misread the greens... but nothing more than a 2 putt so ill take that
RUSS's avg drive - 230yrds and climbing

I played Lambert Acres yesterday and shot a terrible 96. I did manage a birdie on #9, with a great 15 footer with a double break down hill.

After a 6 year layoff, I am consistently in the low to mid 90's. But I feel lucky, for the next 2 months I will be on temporary assignment to school. So hopefully I can get some good practice time in.
