Shot one under for seven holes at Amherst Golf Club -- holes 2 and 3 are still closed. Bogey, eagle, par, par, par, par, par.

The eagle was a hole-in-one on a 155-yard par 3. The hole was playing slightly downwind with a front pin; I hit a crisp seven-iron that hopped in after the second bounce.

What's in my bag:

Went out yesterday after a couple days off due to my constantly lingering bad back.

Was still sore, and played terrible! But somehow managed 7 pars and a birdie for a total of 83 (+13)
Made some putts which helped, but I did 3-putt 2 GIR. A 'fall asleep' pitch shot which ended up 10 metres short in a bunker cost me another 2 shots. Could've been a very sloppy 79 without those mistakes...

How is it that you can hit it terrible, and still score well??

I must say that it's been awhile since I have been on an official tee box. I have tended to spend a great deal of time on the practice range and putting green over the last several months. With the "cold" weather in Florida finally beginning to clear out, I have to find a way to at least get 9 holes in. It sure helps that my 7 yr old son is beginning to take an interest in the game

Shot a 92 (+21). Hit all my clubs well except the scoring clubs. Hit only 9 fairways, but whenever I had an iron in from the fairway, I hit the green. Got under it with my wedges, hit the driver poorly, and I don't even want to begin to count my putts.

First 18 of the new season today. Shot 104. I made a lot of mistakes and half-way through the back 9 I got fatigued and then had 4 3 putts, of which I hadn't had any up to that point. All in all, I'm not too disappointed considering it's first time I've played since Early November. Can't wait for some warmer weather and better conditions.

Personal Best of 98 today. While this meets one of my goals of shooting under 100, it feels like a empty victory since it was on an easier course than I normally play.

Today, I shot a 102. I shot a 51 on both the front and the back. I actually played fairly well, parred 5 holes, and bogeyed 3. I don't think I'll be using a driver again for a while. I hit my 3 wood around 215, and my driver 225, but the 3 wood is soooooooooo much more easy to control. I hit fairways on all the pars and bogeys that weren't par 3's using basically my 3 wood alone. I was pin high in 3 on a par 5 as well, using only my 3 wood, not my driver. Btw, this was at a course I have never played before and in 15-25 mph sustained winds and 45mph gusts.

Your desire to change has to be greater than your desire to stay the same.
