Worked on my putting today in the living room. Mainly focusing on my alignment as I had been lining up left. It feels now that Im aiming way right but Im actually pretty square.

Rotation drills. Played a quick 18 on a par 3 course for $6.50 with a free drink. Nice! Not as good a deal as the $11/round with cart and drink, though. Joined another players club. . .

Was at home for lunch today and did my 5 minutes and felt as though a light bulb went on as far as the follow through.  It was a video @mvmac and @iacas did where you have your belt buckle (they called it showing your back signal) pointing in the air.

My 5 minutes today consisted of doing this drill very slowly to emphasise the correct motion in the follow through.

5 minutes of this again.  I was hoping to get to the range and play but Christmas time is not good for finding 4 hours to play golf.  Maybe tomorrow, haha.

Hip rotation drills, and finished entering the score from yesterday. 22 hour round? :-D

Some range work before it started to rain, then went home to bake a cake with my daughter. . .

Hit the range today and did nothing but hit balls for the first time in a month or more. Didnt work on anything. Made sure I focused on my target and PSR. Actually hit the ball pretty good.

More belt buckle in the sky today but this time I decided to do it with the driver even though it was quite dicey since my living room has a tree in it, haha.   At least the tree forced me to swing slowly rather than try and do a swing at full speed.

Practiced with a mirror today. Focused on my positions from A4 to A5. Also focused on my hip turn in the backswing. That has been pretty sloppy lately.

Got hit by a car (while I was in my car), and was checking to see if I could still rotate freely. $600 damage to my vehicle, but still able to somewhat swing.

Practiced hip rotations and full shoulder rotations. Went to the range and hit a lot of crappy balls until I realized that I was picking up my head. I straightened out the spin purposefully and the pain was nearly gone and I was able to swing pretty decently. Contact was better, but still had a few thin shots.

Will rest up the neck and practice again tomorrow. . .

Worked on the Hogan-like waggle seeing if I could get it to reconcile with the angle of the arms and hands hanging naturally....specifically the lead hand.....and then get that to reconcile with  the right hand position on the cover of his book ....went well...will check it tomorrow.

    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
