My wife hates golf but fully supports my near obsession with it.  Sometimes she gets a little testy when she sees the UPS guy frequently delivering too many club shaped boxes but I remind her how I'm claiming QVC as a dependent and she backs off.

I always make sure I make time for her and the kids so she never has an issue with my playing golf.

I used to purposely pick fights with my wife because she would always tell me "Why don't you just go golfing!"  She never caught on. :-)  She also doesn't read this website.

Be careful! She may be smarter than you think. What is she doing while you are on the golf course?

I am sure this subject will come up again in a few years. At our club, it comes up a lot since approximately half of us  have wives who do not play. To make our marriages last, we have to constantly work at it. ****** When my wife and I first got married, my mother-in-law told me about the 3 C's that are necessary for a successful marriage ----cooperation, compromise, and communication. She is so right!

What C's are you talking. What woman can tolerate her man using his stick and balls to play 18 other HOLES !!!

Smarter?  Nah.  Not sure what she was doing, but all the kids look like my side of the family, I think.  Actually, the first one doesn't.....

I was married a few years before I was introduced to golf. My wife is happy to stay home with our daughter while I go off and play/practice. In a few years when my daughter is old enough to swing a club, I will encourage my wife to pick up a club as well, her putting should be amazing, she still thrashes me at crazy golf!

my wife does not like golf. i've only been playing golf for about 4 years (once in a blue moon though) and seriously only for about a year now, but i've been playing/practicing a lot because i'm loving it.

I go to the driving range frequently and ask her if she would like to go too and that she'll have fun. one time recently i dragged her with me because she was just sleeping and lounging around. Turned out she had a blast. she doesnt remember that though, because i still cant get her to go lol.

we have only been married 3 years, but she tells me she has no problem with 3-4x per week (9 holes at a time is my game though) and she enjoys that time to herself (she's quite the introvert). She doesn't like me spending 7am-2pm at the golf course on a saturday but i dont really do that much anyways. my jam is squeezing in walking 9 holes after work a few days a week, which she doesnt mind since it only gets me home about 2 hours later than normal.
