I finally have enough money to get a new set of clubs. Was wondering what yall think the new Nike Vapor Fly Pro vs the King Cobra driver, 3w, and the pro combo irons 3-6 CB and 7-9 MB. Also wondering bout the wedges with them. I've swung both and like both . just wondering yalls thoughts. Thanks.

All clubs are good -- it's what fits you in a demo and gives you confidence to play your best.

Agree w Desmond. Hit some forged irons from nike, cobra, the rsi2 irons, and the ap2s.....for some reason the ap2 were the best feeling and I hit them better than all the others by a lot. So in my bad they went. Same with all of the woods and and hybrid in my bad. Maybe it is a confidence I have wth the name titleist but it's all up to how you perform w them

Agree with above.  Just hit them all and choose which feel best.  If you're buying new irons you can find a shop with a range with trackman (I'd prefer that over a full indoor setup myself) and they'll let you hit as many clubs as you want if they think you're going to buy.

I work at Nike, so I get Nike clubs at cost (about 1/3 off), so I wasn't going to consider other irons unless I really hated the Nikes.  Luckily I didn't have that problem.  I've got the Nike Pro Combos, 4-G.  Absolutely love them.  Some distance penalty in off center hits, but not too bad, and they're generally pretty forgiving for the kind of club they are.  And I love the way they look, feel, and strike the ball.  Great distance too.  I added about a club of distance over my old Titleist 695 CBs with identical lofts.

I upgraded this summer from an older Nike to a Cobra Fly Z driver and a cobra hybrid. I love both of them. But as others said... It's what feels good to you. I believe they are both great products.  It's best to test them side by side to decide, I think.

I hit the Cobra King Forged Tec irons recently and even I could game them. I thought they have a very nice feel to them and they're pretty forgiving. They're definitely more of a lower-mid handicapper's club. I think they have a winner here.

I think a mid handicapper would benefit from the F6. And a high handicapper from the Max. Although a low handicapper could play any of them given that I've seen pros game SGIs.

I've always liked Cobra better than Nike in terms of irons and woods.  I think it's all a matter of personal preference.  In terms of the Cobra irons, take a look at the Fly Z Pro irons, I've heard a lot of positive things about them and you can save some money too.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
