Spent a lot of time on my hips recently, and have made good progress.

Finally turned my attention to my past parallel swing, and I gotta say shortening the back swing has been pretty hard to do.

My arms like to keep going, and going. That feeling of being "set" at the top has been dangerously ingrained to be way past parallel for quite some time, but I've had my eye on it. One thing at a time!

Have just been using slow motion in the mirror, trying to attach a "feel" to what is a full shoulder turn where the arms are not doing any unnecessary movement.

I actually feel shortening the back swing is making my down swing transition a little more crisp, and quick due to my arms/hands not dragging behind.

Hit balls at the range today. Im still working on my downswing however I paid a little attention to my takeaway. I started getting sloppy with it and I have to remember hands in and clubhead out. I also practiced my putting with the coin drill.

Short yoga stretches, medicine ball routine, dead lift and backswing drill at gym. Back home to hit balls in net in barn. Medicine ball routine is making a difference. I feel strength in legs but also feeling drop into slot in downswing. Helps promote the inside out swing path.

Under construction, signature and game.

Still working on my timing using a swing speed radar. I'm going to setup something to monitor my hand path.

More of the same thing. I also got distracted implementing a 24GHz doppler radar to see if it picks up the ball just as well as X-band.

More range work today. I focused mainly on my takeaway. I have to make sure to keep an eye on it because I can get really sloppy. I also worked more on my putting with the coin drill and clock drill. I ended the day with trying to make 10 straight 5 footers. I had to start over a couple times:)

Great practice day today (and great weather)... worked a lot with the driver, 6-iron and 7-iron in the backyard. Focused on backswing, downswing drills and full swing incorporating the key elements of the drills. Again, my main focus is swing now with the lower body (not arms) and continuing with my single swing thought (at A4... try to hit the ball with the belly button). Heading out to play a round of golf tomorrow morning to try to put this into my game. Also, made a number of videos and reviewed them. Sent a couple off to Evolvr for review. Here are a couple driver videos that I posted in MySwing. Any suggestions and comments are always appreciated.

More of the 24GHz Doppler. More of the swing path stuff.

Got something rigged up to look at the swing path.

Now using the DIY swing speed doppler to measure the speed and loading the data to the computer.

Also, working on the swing path detector. In the meantime, just taped a laser pointer end of the grip on the shaft of a practice club. Primitive, but it works. Keeping the swings at the toe line. I just have no idea where maximum velocity occurs.

The computer interfaced swing path measurement device can take about 2000 position readings in "3D". When it works, I will be able to load and plot it along with the doppler radar data. I'll create another thread once this rig is all setup and working. Plots to come once I finish this up and integrate the two things. The path detector I am building can get about 2000 position readings per second, but I am working to get it up to 10000 or so.

Took more video and my hips are closing up again. Need to monitor that as well at impact. Thinking about what modifications I can make with the position reading sensor for the hips.

No need for the sensor. I was a able to get draw flights out of my drives again. Just a little open at impact was enough. Still working on loosening them up to get more open at impact. I think there's some more power to be had. So, the ping i25 is working again, but really sensitive to bad swings. I'll have to make sure to swing correctly so I won't insult it so much. . .

Short yoga routine to stretch and slow mo backswing drill hitting into net in barn. Focus on inside out path and square club face at impact. Am trying to stand away from ball more at address. Seems to feel good and ball strikes good too.

    • I've been really happy with my game dispite not playing a tonne this year.    My two biggest weaknesses have had turn arounds. Driving and chipping has got much better. Used to slice my driver terribly every time, but managed to not hit 1 bad slice today. Chipping has just started to turn around, only mishit one from a weird lie where I didn't commit to the shot. Of 8 rounds this year, two in the 80s, three below 95, and only one over 100 (with horrible greens).    Just got to work on trying to at least go to the range once or twice a week for some consistency. Hit I think 4 really bad miss hits, and was a little slow starting with 3 or 4 mini slice/hooks with irons on the first few holes. Still much more good than bad shots, but more practice should get that good swing happening more and more frequently.
    • I definitely have a better outlook on BD after watching his YouTube channel and his appearances on Grant Horvath’s channel. He’s an odd character but he loves the game and is considerably more entertaining than Scheffler and many other PGAT players. I do however continue to see Koepka as a total douche.    I’m pulling for Rory but won’t be disappointed if BD wins. It’s just a damn shame he’s with LIV.
    • Day 44. (15 Jun 24) - took yesterday off (was on the road all day, home after midnight kind of thing). Today was back to it - played local course as a solo.  Played one of my fave formats of rotating thru the tee boxes - adds dimension to the approach game.  Best part of the day was the wedge play with a first ever hole out eagle on the par 5 13th hole.  Drive was tight to the left needing a punchy iron to get back to the center of fairway.  Left about 80yds to the flag, figured an easy GW would leave me close for a birdie putt.  Caught it solid and watched it one hop into the hole….over all a good day of working on the game.
    • As @iacas wrote “This applies to golf, too. Relentlessly chip away at whatever you’re seeking to change. It’ll add up over time in a big way.”  Have to say my work on key points is seeing consistent results -  slowly chipping away at a better approach game, leading to more GIR and nGIR which makes for easier pars and more up and downs.
    • day 93. Chipping and practice getting a little more comfortable with longer irons
