^^^ This, Disney and the other theme parks subsidize the lack of state income taxes.  Property taxes in Florida are low compared to NY.  I believe Florida property taxes range from 1.5% - 2% of the purchase price of the home.

Not at all.  Currently ranked right about the middle for the 50 states and The District of Columbia at 30th.  10 spots better than OH by the way.  ;-)

You know, for as much as everyone told me how expensive it was to live down here, it really is not that bad. Even gas is cheaper based on the lower tax rate here than Ohio. Groceries are higher.
