2nd round underway.

Rory gains a shot on Willett after 6 holes.Danny going steady at level par after 5.

bad grammar

Kaymer and Fisher climbing the leaderboard and they're not on the course yet.Playing tough in the morning by the looks of it.

Super round from Marc Warren to put him level at the top with Danny Willett.

Rory one behind. An exciting weekend coming up.

Sergio missing from the Irish Open this year but going well one behind the leader at the Byron Nelson in Texas.

I may be the 1st to say it here, or maybe not, but it has to be said.  I really miss Ivor Robson.  Silly, I know.  There's no one here in the states I think about in terms of announcing players but the Open has been my favorite major for many years so I've gotten to know him, I feel.

Anyway, watching the Irish at the minute and the guy doing it now just doesn't have the same cache.  When I think about the upcoming British without him, I'm a little sad.

Rory in the driving seat now, three shots ahead of Willett but still 3 holes to play of the third round after thunderstorms suspended play yesterday.

Sad to see Marc Warren drop back but another good round from Knoxy to put him back in contention,a top ten finish will do his ryder cup chances no harm at all.

Yes, a lot of people will miss Ivor Robson, including the golfers. There's a video out there of the players doing their Ivor Robson impressions. I'll see if I can dig it out.

Here it is.................

Here's another

4th Round underway.

Rory goes to 10 under after 7 holes now 4 ahead of Danny Willett,Knoxy has an eagle and a birdie in the first 5 holes to go 8 under and is now Rory's nearest challenger.

For a Northwest guy that plays in crappy weather and wet courses quite a bit, it sure makes me feel good to see tour pros in rain hit the ball only 245/250 off the tee and then hit hybrid on approach from inside 200........it does make a difference when not playing in the south on 85 degree days with 50 yards of roll out....

I bet Rory really feels like he has to win this one. Just hit a beautiful wood into a par 5 green, so if he's feeling the pressure, he's not showing it.

And Rory has a tap in eagle on 18. That approach shot was incredible.
