This one out of a puddle in a bunker. No view of ball flight though. Lots of ball not in the water looks like. Easy peasy.

I don't see why he would even try that shot when he could get a drop out of the water, and from the looks of it, get a good lie.  The sand appears to be pretty wet and packed where he would make the drop, so dropping wouldn't leave an especially bad lie.  Unless appearances in the video are deceiving, I think he made it more difficult that it needed to be, and certainly messier.

You can see two other balls in the bunker behind him so I think this was a set up shot during practice, not actual play.

Yea it's odd. I thought at first he was talking about practicing water shots in general, but he specifically mentioned hitting the sand under the water. If you just wanted to practice hitting partially submerged shots, hitting out of a puddle in a bunker is probably better than finding the edge of a pond to wade into.

The number of times I have hit the ball into a bunker, into casual water, and couldn't get relief from it are zero. So that's how often I plan to practice that shot.

The number of times I've had that lie is 1. I'll take relief from the casual water, thank you.
