I'm a fan of Beef and hope he's here to stay. He's a normal guy from humble beginnings...His dad drives a bus and his mom serves school lunches. His appearance may be rough but his swing is smooth and I hope Arby's paid through the nose for him.  and apparently his autograph is just "Beef" http://www.golf.com/tour-and-news/beef-johnston-exits-pga-championship-style.  Question is, could he join the list of other single-named celebrities?...like Sting, Madonna, Cher, or maybe more realistically Coolio...or Fabio?

He's getting a lot of press in the UK too. Some village somewhere is missing its idiot... And he wasn't even the top English player at either Troon or the PGA-that was Tyrell Hatton both times. The media is a funny thing.

The dude is always smiling, very likable, he's having fun out there.  Hatton may be a better golfer but he looks like he hates golf, always scowling and complaining.  Hatton needs to be a lot better for that kind of  on-course behavior to become marketable.

Yep, I am pretty sure you are right in what you say about Hatton. But he is the only one of the two who has a chance of making the Ryder Cup Team (although I don't think he will). Beef is smiling because he can't believe his luck!

I would venture to say that by making it fun Beef is getting kids (16-25) into the game. I know of one personally.

He's a good dude.  Yank like me could only understand about every 3rd word he said but he had a smile on the whole time so I figure it was happy talk.

    • First one. If it’s not some bs “mistake” like I should have made that 12’ putt for birdie and actually correctable then it’s a learning experience and it means I’m good enough to win. I don’t play the club championships at my county courses because the best I can hope for is the second option and I kind of don’t see the point in that.
