I would have watched it on TV or online, but now I would rather go play.

I have watched this tournament each day and find it enjoyable.  Piercy is on fire.  kutcher misses the cut.  When I look at the golfers that miss cuts I become much more impressed with the consecutive cuts that Tiger made(144 if think)

I was wrong again.  It was 142 consecutive cuts that Tiger made.

Sweet, the new season is underway!  Boy, I've missed watching PGA Tour golf!

.....

Yeah, that long long break is a killer.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

Euro Tour much more compelling than the PGA Tour at this time of year.  I did watch Phil Thurs and Fri but other than him, I have no interest in PGA Tour golf until the champions event in Hawaii in January.

In my Bag: Driver: Titelist 913 D3 9.5 deg. 3W: TaylorMade RBZ 14.5 3H: TaylorMade RBZ 18.5 4I - SW: TaylorMade R7 TP LW: Titelist Vokey 60 Putter: Odyssey 2-Ball

I agree there's a bit less buzz because there's no real arc of anticipation leading up to a Major. That said it's a time when you can get a good look at new faces that may break through to top 20 in the coming season. Players like Rahm or Grillo, for example.

Call me a casual fan, couldn't care less about the no-names, until they become a name.  Gotta pay some bills to get my attention, even though I appreciate their efforts.

I'd be happy if the top 5 traded wins for the next 10 years and no one else, but they should let Phil in for a US Open.

I get you for having familiar faces, but how would you know if those guys were still top 5? Without the field and the 'also rans' who have a chance to get hot it's much less competitive.

I hear you, those guys came from somewhere.  So, I exaggerated a little, but generally, unless there's a big name, I don't watch.  Race to Dubai is interesting, with big names aplenty, so that has my attention much more than the PGA Tour for the next few months.  All the better for we fans.

    • Day 134 (26 Apr 24) - played Minnesott today, worked with the mid-irons and approaches (especially the 7i).  Scoring was a little higher, but I was focused on making the needed adjustments to the swing to achieve desired distances.
    • I honestly believe if they play longer tees by 300-400 yards, closer to or over 7,000 yards, more rough, tougher greens, women's golf will become much more gripping.  BTW, if it weren't for Scottie killing it right now, men's golf isn't exactly compelling.
    • Day 542, April 26, 2024 A lesson no-show, no-called (he had the wrong time even though the last text was confirming the time… 😛), so I used 45 minutes or so of that time to get some good work in.
    • Yeah, that. It stands out… because it's so rare. And interest in Caitlin Clark will likely result in a very small bump to the WNBA or something… and then it will go back down to very low viewership numbers. Like it's always had. A small portion, yep. It doesn't help that she lost, either. Girls often don't even want to watch women playing sports. My daughter golfs… I watch more LPGA Tour golf than she does, and it's not even close. I watch more LPGA Tour golf than PGA Tour golf, even. She watches very little of either. It's just the way it is. Yes, it's a bit of a vicious cycle, but… how do you break it? If you invest a ton of money into broadcasting an LPGA Tour event, the same coverage you'd spend on a men's event… you'll lose a ton of money. It'd take decades to build up the interest. Even with interest in the PGA Tour declining.
