How do you like your mat?

I am a procrastinator. I have not put up the cage or taken the mat out of the box. But I will do it soon:-D

UPDATE:

I ended up getting the Haack net by Rukket Sports and I can't say enough good things about it. Very reasonably priced and the quality so far seems spot on.  No joke that this net sets up and takes down in less than 5 minutes. I've mainly hit 9 through 5 irons in to it and it doesn't have any issue. I haven't hit a lot of woods with the exception of a few hybrids. I don't plan on cranking 50 drivers in to the net each night, but the net could probably take it.  http://www.rukket.com/collections/golf/products/rukket-haack-golf-net-by-sec-coach-chris-haack-10-x-7ft

For the mat, I just bit the bullet and got the country club elite 4'x5' mat.  I'm going to use it a lot and I have a 3 year old that wants to use it as well. Need something durable that will last and this seemed like the best option. No doubt the price was a little steep. Costco seemed to have a good deal on them.

All in all, i'm really liking the set up so far. I got a little outdoor storage bin to keep it in so it all stays out of the elements. As a dad of a 3 year old and 7 month old, my range time has been significantly cut down. This is a great way to work on my swing and stay loose in between rounds.

I really like my Haack net by Rukket Sport.   I'd buy it again.    That in itself is a good testimony.   I have mine set up in the garage and like you said, quick 5 minutes up and down.

really nice looking set up. Much better than my original home made attempts and not much more cost wise.

I set this net and mat up last year when we bought our house so I could practice when it was too cold out or in the evening when the kiddos go to bed.  It's in my 3rd garage stall and the garage doors are insulated so it's perfect.  Not totally in love with the mat (it's a bit deep) but I'm pretty happy with everything overall.  Not pictured is my SkyTrak, which I used with my iPad.

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
