I am not sure what thanks giving is, but if you have it in the U.S it won't be long before we get it in the UK. You gave us political correctness, the comp culture, Mc Donalds, trick and treaters, and HIV, so I am sure it's on the way, but I really hope not :-D

In my bag (Motocaddy Light)

Taylormade Burner driver, Taylormade 4 wood, 3 x Ping Karsten Hybrids, 6-SW Ping Karsten irons with reg flex graphite shafts. Odyssey putter, 20 Bridgestone e6 balls, 2 water balls for the 5th hole, loads of tees, 2 golf gloves, a couple of hand warmers, cleaning towel, 5 ball markers, 2 pitch mark repairers, some aspirin, 3 hats, set of waterproofs, an umbrella, a pair of gaiters, 2 pairs of glasses. Christ, it's amazing I can pick the bloody thing up !!

Pay no mind to him. He's a delusional troll who thinks he speaks for all of the UK.

Well, I have had no interactions with him, so have to give benefit of doubt. If and when anything changes, there is the "ignore user" setting. Actually, that is not even necessary as one can ignore any post or poster that they want without any action what-so-ever. Same could be said for my posts, they are not mandatory reading. "Donovan Frankenreiter" (I think that is the name).

Didn't we get the Thanksgiving because you guys kicked out all the undesirables? We are just paying you back for all the hospitality UK has shown.

    • I don't see the appeal of a rare putter either, and I'm not sure I spent $700 on putters total, unless we're counting the fitting fee for my Edel, and even then just barely.  I do have a few putters, maybe one could be described as rare.   I have a Ping Anser I started with;  that was the one I used when I first broke 100.  That's not the rare one. I have one from a brand called Fisher that a friend gave (or sold?) me.  That was the one I used when I first broke 90. The first bought-new-for-me putter I ever bought is when Cleveland had the <$100 milled putters.  I forget the name.  I own a semi-mallet of those.  At least, I own it in theory:  my mother really likes that one and uses it.   I also have one from Maltby that I assembled back a dozen years ago or so when I thought that was the cool thing to do.  It's a fine enough putter.  I think my brother in law might use it if he takes up golf.  I have a Mantis putter.  I think I got that from either a TST outing or as part of a TST member review.  I think I used that to win a lot of match play events at my club.  In fact, I think the last round I played with it was my club's match play (our match play event and club championship are different events) finals a decade ago, as shortly after that my Edel came in. I don't think I realized until just now that I've owned six putters.   I don't know what I'd do with a seventh of any sort (maybe a clone of my current Edel to leave somewhere else?).  A rare putter, which seems to cost as much as I have spent on putters since taking up golf two decades ago, would feel like an odd purchase;  I'm not sure what I'd do with it.  Playing with a rare item wouldn't feel right to me, but maybe I'm weird that way.  Leaving it on a display case would seem weird too, but I'm not much of a memorabilia collector of anything.
    • I wouldn't be surprised if there are ladies who aren't professional golfers who can hang with the PGA Tour guys when it comes to putting;  possibly chipping (I haven't thought about that one as much).   Put it this way:  you've heard of people who practice regularly and spend half (or more) of their practice time putting;  I don't even mean when I'm in the week before a tournament, or if putting is a glaring weakness relative to handicap.  I mean there are people who (incorrectly) believe that's the right practice ratio.  I don't need to repeat the bad math here, I hope. Some of those people turn out to be really good at putting, especially if they keep up regular practice at this ratio for a long time;  I would go so far as to speculate there are people who convert makeable putts (inside 15') at a higher rate than scratch (male) golfers over the course of a season, regardless of what the putt is for.  We've all met people who make an occasional 8' putt for par and then proudly explain that's how they saved a stroke and we should all practice putting more (nevermind why they had an 8' putt for par on such a regular basis).  I'm not convinced the ceiling of how good someone can get at putting is PGA Tour level -- although it's the ceiling for how far I'd want to get. It wouldn't surprise me if some of the people in the world who can do that are women.   I don't know enough about the depth of the LPGA Tour to know if someone whose golf game was built that way would make it to the tour.  We have occasional people on the open side whose strength is clearly inside 50 yards (and on rare occasion, they make a big splash or even win a tournament).
    • Here on Arg.. On 9 hole courses the priority on hole one is for the group starting their second 9.  On regular 18th holes courses, the one with the tee time have priority over a group that was allowed to tee off the 10th as an exception. On summer when you divide the tee times on the morning and afternoon wave, the ones from the morning wave that started on hole 10, have priority on hole 1 over the ones on the afternoon wave that start on the 1st hole.
    • I have an Edel putter too and I like it. This one, however, is a "rare" putter. They are only making 25 of them.  Personally, I don't see the point of this particular "rare" model. I'm not sure what putting, Edel and the moon all have in common. This one's weird to me.  Normal Edel putters are $250 to $350. This one's a "rare" moon model. They are only making 25 of them.
    • I bought an Edel putter ten years ago, paid for both it and the fitting.  I'm glad I did.  The best part of it isn't the design;  it's the fact that at least I know my equipment isn't the issue when I have poor putting.  I can see, in a different life, being something of a club collector, so at least I'm not getting a bunch of putters every time I have a poor performance putting.  Although I'm probably getting a new putter cover, my current one is showing signs of age.  I just have to find one I like.
