Vegas Golden Knights Denied Trademark

Ha ha. On two counts.

• Ditching the word "Las." So dumb.
• Pretty dumb of the trademark office, IMO. Seriously, how many teams are called names of other professional sports teams? A lot of team names have overlap, sometimes within the same sport at different levels. Pitt Panthers and Carolina Panthers both play football, and the Florida Panthers play hockey (though not very well this year).

Besides which, the big problem is The College of Saint Rose. What about everyone's favorite ECAC hockey outfit? The Clarkson Golden Knights.

They seem to picked the name from playing Create A Team mode on NHL17 too much!

I'm not sure if getting rid of "Las" is completely awful because they're eliminating redundancy.

OT, but I am working on a project at Clarkson University right now, and they are CRAZY about their hockey teams (men's and women's).

I don't mind the "Vegas" instead of "Las Vegas"...that's what most people call the city anyway.

This seems misguided.  Everyone is going to know them as Vegas' sports team; that's their predominant feature.
