Our number 5 is a 140 yard par 3 and I missed it to the right. I got up there and hit a little bump and run and it went in center cup!! Not just great but it was the best shot that day. Chip ins for birdie are never bad.

Seve Ballesteros Would Be Proud: On the infamous "350-plays-like-450" ninth hole at City Club Marietta, I hit a downright embarrassing slice that went so far left, it ran through the parallel tenth fairway. In the first cut of rough and 195 uphill to the center of the green, I pulled out my 4-wood and let it rip...right onto the center of the green. In typical Seve fashion, I 3-putted from there for bogey.

This wasn't from this week, but I just remembered it and I wanted to share.

It was a bit of a long par 3 that had a lake between the tee box and the green, so i pulled out my hybrid and I felt like i needed to overswing. As a result, i topped the ball but it still came off the club hot and low to the ground. Right before the end of the lake, the ball took a quick skip off the water and popped up near the green. Got up and down for a par.

Hit a sick fade 3i at the par 3 8th. I usually hit a 4i into this green as you can get a good bit of roll but its hard to stop the ball. So I have been practicing this shot a bit recently and decided to give it a whirl. The ball flight was really high compared to my usual draw flight but really cool to watch. The ball landed on the green on the fly and sat down very quickly leaving me a 12 foot birdie putt.......(drum roll)......which......lipped out. :)

I've not been playing long and feel somewhat intimidated around other people but today was asked to play through by a 4 ball, hole was 330 yds par 4 so I teed up with a 4i, and just relaxed. Bang - straight up the middle about 180 - 200 yds, shocked my self, then a very sweet 9i chip onto the tiered green and watched in disbelief as my putt just skipped over the hole leaving a 4 ft putt for par. That one hole made up for an otherwise miserble round.

Thats cool. One of the hardest things I had to get over was playing in front of others. Staying calm under pressure like this takes a whole lot of mental discipline.

Anyways, I just played 18 today at my home course. A bit windy, as it usually is here in Texas. No. 2 is a fairly short par 4 at 380 yards. Wind is coming in from the right and there are trees and all sorts of nastiness to the left. So I decided to try and fade a 3 wood into the wind and hope I could hit the narrow fairway or at least miss right. I am mostly a draw shot type, any time I try and fade I end up ballooning the ball into the wind, costing distance. I lined up to the center of the fairway and opened the face a touch. Coming through, I made a conscious feeling of my hands staying ahead of the club and staying firm on my left side through impact. I never hit a better shot. It did exactly what I envisioned. The ball was able to stay low and not balloon. It held up perfectly in the wind and it landed in the middle of the fairway, leaving 110 yards to a back pin. A knockdown PW got me to about 15 feet. Missed the birdie putt of course. I need the hit the putting green more.

12' putt on 9th to save par and shoot 40. I cleared my mind of all thoughts, pulled the putter back, and it poured right in.

This might be a little different shot of the week, but today I was hitting at the driving range working on my swing changes with my 6 iron. One of my friends from work walks up and watches me hit a couple. When I get down to my last couple balls, I pulled out my 54* and said, "check this one out, I'm gonna hit the pin." This flag was 115 yards out and I hit an extremely high shot, like way higher that a 60* flight. It came straight down on top of the flag stick and went CLANK on top of it and rode the stick all the way down.

Today on 6 I pulled out my hybrid. I hit it pure and it rolled to the rough to the right of the green. We guessed I was about 250-260 out...

Because the US Open was postponed yesterday, I went over to my local course before the rain made it all the way up to New Hampshire. By the time I got to the 6th hole it had been spitting rain for about 4 holes. I pulled my 4i, walked up to the 225 yard par 3, put the ball right in the center of the green.

I think I need a 3 iron. I've hit long irons better than short irons the past 2 weeks, I don't get it.

Edit: On the par 3 8th, I also hit a long 4 iron that bounced off the fringe or green went 20 feet past the back of the green. I took my second shot, and chunked it real bad leaving myself 5-10 feet from the edge of green, and about 10-12 to the hole from the edge. Put it right in the hole to save par with a perfect chip...It kinda reminds me of the cingular/at&t; commercial I think... WHO AM I KIDDING??? I LOVE GOLF!!!

2nd shot on a 368 yard par 4. 118 or so out. Slightly uphill to a back left pin, green sloped back to me. Stuck a nice easy pw over the flagstick about 10" behind it. That was the one bird I actually dropped in. I kept thinking "take dead aim" and I guess it paid off.

my approach shot inside 75yrds... grabbed my 52*... went straight at the flag... lipped out the eagle chip in and 1 putted for birdie... very very satisfying

I hit a 45ish foot putt today to save birdie..complete luck no way I will be able to do that.

The other I had a chip in, good for me considering my previous chips didn't do ANYTHING.

280 yard par four with bunker guarding the entire front of the green and trees lining both sides of the fairway. I was approx 40 yards out and chipped in for eagle. This during my league night.

405 yard par four, blocked my tee shot into the woods but got a good roll because i was only about 100 yards out. perfect shot for a full s wedge, but i had trees towering over me. i choked down on a 6 and hit a low pitch which hit the rough and bounced up on the green about 7 feet away. and then i missed my putt. :(

1st hole- par 5, 555 yards, hit a good drive to about 260 out. I wailed on my 2 hybrid and was about 5 yards shot of green. Chip was 3 inches away from an eagle. Made the birdie.

2nd hole- Par 4, 316 yards, Drive was pin high but 20 yards to the right of green. chipped on to about 12 feet, made that for birdie.

6th hole- Good hybrid into fairway, SW was on green, but about 40 feet from hole. Made that for birdie.

12th hole the other day- 9 iron from 155, landed 3 feet away.
