3/20: Played 36 holes today. Shot 89 and a 10 over, 83!!! A new best.

Played a push-draw all day (that mostly just pushed or straight-faded). I also recorded the last few holes for a vlog post, will hopefully get that up soon.

20/3/17 - putting work on the mat for 10 minutes with the metronome going and trying to keep the backstroke shorter whilst not 'hitting' at the ball.

Currently focusing on: Key 4 - shorter backswing.

Congrats on the new low!!  I'd love to post an 83 again soon...been a while for me.

3/20:  Watched videos to learn wall drill technique; 10 mins. of wall drills - 5 without club & 5 with (chocked down).  Didn't hit balls as planned, but should be getting in a little range time & walking ~12+ after work this evening.

3/21 - Mirror work at the gym. Focused on my key 3 work with slower swings.

PM- Was able to get out and hit balls into my net. Spent about 45 minutes doing slow swing repeats of Key 3 drill with 7 iron, Driver and PW. I'm trying to Change the Dang Picture. Started each with chipping motion to get the In-line impact position. Then progressed to full swing range of motion at 50-60% effort.

21/3/17 - more swing work at the range. Making good inroads, but still finding that process of speeding up from 75% tricky.

Currently focusing on: Key 4 - shorter backswing.

3/21: Putting challenge. Hit 72 5ft putts, plus some warmups. Made only 37 of them- needs work!

Also did some full swing work while at the course. No range time with balls, but did some drills in one of the bays and shagged a couple balls to hit 50-100yd with my 7iron. Focused on left hip turning through so as to straighten left leg. Really feel more rotational control with this move. Also think it's helping me shallow the club, as I want to get to a better A6 position naturally now to make the rotation through more effective.

25 min Sklz swing trainer, 7 iron, driver

stop at top, pump drill (my fav), step thru and full swing

for 7 iron, need to mark pad with foot powder to make sure delivering club to same and correct spot.

driver will need a practice tee to make sure delivering club on up swing

in general, need to be more careful about balance

3/21:  25 min. range session - w/o ball, checks on A2 & A3, then at A7; then full swing work w/ball (main focus left knee, hip & hand-lead..working to kill the "flip" dead!).  Great session!  Then, walked 9 holes w/focus on new changes.

The ball-striking difference with the new swing is amazing.  Every single shot is solid and I'm starting to take divots.  Any curve is minimal...just pushing it a little too much at times.  The pull hook is history, and almost seems impossible with the flip out of the picture.  Just gotta keep working every day to ingrain the changes so it never comes back.

You said it, that's the key. It's nice to finally see my scores start to reflect the progress I've felt I was making...hope that keeps up. Loving this practice thread, too. Seems like lots of folks are making noticeable progress, which is exciting and helps that much more with the motivation to keep grinding. :content:

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
