I think just regular plastic paint will do the trick, just rough up the pvc a little so it will stick better. I may though so I don't have to go through the hassle of painting, just get the grey like you did. Just depends really on how much I need to cut off the ends on the grey, and if the store has enough 10 foot sections.

@Slowcelica Sounds like you have got it covered. You needn't worry about how much you cut the ends as long as each section is the same length when you are done. Mine came out to 9 1/2 foot sections, and the 3 way connectors add another 3 inches or so. The conduit does not cost that much more. You could also spiral on some painters or masking tape if you wanted to. Post some photos when you are done.

Got my practice net done this weekend, it's 10x10x10 I used 1 1/4" conduit. I put my old net inside for now till I seal up some small holes. I plan on maybe putting a sand trap in front of my practice mat so i can practice sand shots.

that'l work!  I like the additional cross member, should lend some support. Your net must be lighter than mine as mine bows a bit. You can get a vinyl target online to suspend from the back wall, protects the net and at the same time gives audible feedback.  Be careful of that window, kinda hard to tell from the photo, but it appears a bit close.

I have a "target" i can use that came with the smaller callaway net, and that window is pretty far away from the net. It's a good 5 feet behind it. The net does bow a good bit on the top, you just can't tell from the picture, I made the sides fairly tight so it wouldn't bow much there. I'm thinking of getting a painters tarp and suspending it from the top to help protect the net more. The net I used is for close up impact and is made for hitting cages and batting cages so it should be able to take a really good blow.

@Slowcelica Good work there!  One thing about poly tarps..in a word  LOUD. Can't wait to see the bunker. How deep are you going to go?  It would be awesome if you could build something with a sizeable lip. I would not dare to try however, as the "boss" would, well, lets not think about that.

The noise I'm not to worried about, I live in a rural area and my neighbors don't really care. The "boss" really doesn't care what I do outside so that is also a plus, I probably won't go very big just something where I can practice making good contact out of the sand.

Can you still record a face-on video with that setup?

No, but I can using the smaller net that you can see inside the cage to record my face on videos.

I could if the net was facing the other direction, all I would have to do is pull it out some so the posts did not block the camera's view.

Nice I like the wheels. Did you glue yours? I used bolts, incase a section breaks I can replace it easily.

bolts also, just drilled hole in the middle of the 3-ways, used bolts and washers as bushings. All other joints are just held in place by friction. has held up pretty well, but I may have used a little glue on the bottom rear joints.

Well, good bye golf cage!  High winds wrecked it, with broken poles, fittings. I will probably build another out of steel or EMT, but in the meantime, hope to salvage at least enough to make a one dimensional back drop with archery net and target.  I knew a storm was coming, but it came in quite fast with high winds and the heavy net hanging from the members, the stress on those members caused a couple to snap. Bear in mind, these were made from 1 1/2 inch sked 40 conduit!

Since this is supposed to be the "Monster" story of the decade or century, maybe you don't need to upgrade your material. Probably easiest to stick with the design you already have and replace with more PVC.  What holds the joints together?

I use old Taylor Made clubs from eBay and golf shops.

Yes, I could do that since all but two of the joints are not glued. The pvc works okay, but after time, it bows. EMT is more substantial, but should be coated with rustoleum at least on the fittings, although they are galvanized steel. No perfect answer, unless I wanted to sink some heavy poles in the ground with concrete, and string steel cables/turnbuckles; but that would be a lot more money.

Monster Story?  naw, just a damned nuisance/muse.  Time I got.  cage is 10 x 10 x 10. At least the net is fine.

This might sound counterintuitive but if ball position is too far back in the stance folks are known to throw down clubhead steeply. Could be happening. And yes, @billchaois not wrong; clubhead tends to bottom out wherever your pressure is. So slide forward (not sway), then hit.
    • Day 300 (!): did a stack session.
    • Day 24: Missed my weekly round due to a last minute little league makeup game this morning. Managed to get in some backswing rehearsals while grilling sausages for dinner, and then putted around the office/laundry room after dinner.
    • but I don't understand how that's possible you still want your head to stay back you don't want the upper body coming forward and plus I've tried feeling that and it made my fat shots worse and I then tend to pull and sky all my shots especially with driver because I get in front of it dont need force plates to see i finish on my left side
