I would like to suggest adding a forum with each of the 50 states pinned as sub-forums. That way when members are planning on playing a course. Then they can add the course they're going to play to their corresponding state forum. Then post their tee time and date in the new course thread they created. I'm not sure if I'm using the correct forum terminology but you know what I'm trying to say. lol. Maybe an easy way to gain some local golf friends. If this is already available please point me in the right direction.  Thanks!

@DaveP043 created a really cool Google Map which members can pin their location. Check out -

Typically, members already start a thread "Golf Outing / get together" for various locations across the US and abroad.

If you look at the top of the page there is already a sub-category in the "Forum's Tab" for "Member Outings & Meetup"

Member Outings

Also, if you arrange an outing you will receive the "Badge" for organizing the event.

Thanks for the info @Club Rat. I'm just saying it would be nice to have specific state forums so one could follow their state and receive notifications when someone is playing nearby.

We had that in the past and there wasn't much traffic in them. Members could create groups for different areas.

The problem with doing it by states or any sort of area is that I couldn't care less what's happening in Philadelphia, generally speaking - Ohio and New York are closer to me than most of Pennsylvania.

And… people generally aren't here to meet up with a bunch of new people. Now and then, sure. Most of the time they just play the courses they've always played with the people they've always played with.

I can see how individual state sites wouldn't get much traffic, so I get it.   But, I do think it would be cool if there was someway for me to be notified if someone from Minnesota played.  just because I like hearing about the courses, and if reviews are good, adding them to my list of places to play.   I try to keep an eye on the "what did you shoot today?" tread for this purpose.   but...  I guess I'm just thinking out loud here..

You probably know, but can follow threads or individuals, by adjusting your forum preferences.  Doing so might help you keep track of some of those....

I just don't think they would get used that much. Didn't the board used to have forums for different regions or something like that? I seem to recall something along those lines because i ended up talking with a member about playing. But I also remember that there were very few posts in those areas.

    • Day 27 (17 July 26) - Normally an 18 hole day, but due to commitments abbreviated the round to 9 holes (played the back nine at home course).  Had a solid session where even the worst miss (tee shot off 18) was fully playable.  Shot a solid 39 (6pars, 3bogies) - not dbls, no three putts - just boring golf.
    • Overall, well said. People have to be very careful in trying to describe very complex problem in simple terms. In this case, it is a clear fundamental misunderstanding of Newton's 1st and 3rd laws.  To clarify more on the misinterpretation of Newton's 1st law. The exact interpretation of Newton's 1st Law....  "Every body continues in its state of rest, or of uniform motion in a straight line, unless it is compelled to change that state by forces impressed upon it" yea, a body will stay motionless unless a force acts upon it. An object will stay on its path of motion unless a force acts upon it.  I get it, complex physics problems are difficult. There is a lot of simplification done in most physics class when it is taught. A classic problem uses a frictionless surface. Projectile motion excludes drag and wind direction. Collisions are usually elastic. The golf swing is not a simple physics problem.  Yea, I think they got caught up the data on the graphs and are not truly understanding cause and effect.  If the golfer isn't first pushing into the ground, then the ground isn't going to push back.  The internal forces of the body create the motion, not the external forces from the ground. The ground isn't like what Psy uses to start his concert. 🤣 You probably need to be connected to the ground and have those GRF to help the body produce the motion you want. Your body has to move in the right way to produce the GRF which helps you move the body in the way you want. Body motion precedes the GRF.
