I have +1/8" grips on my irons and wedges, and it's helping me a lot. (I have large hands). My driver and hybrid both have +1/16" grips... I hit them fine but the feel is a little different.

So should I switch my grips to +1/8" in my driver, 3-wood, and 3-hybrid?

I have a secondary question which is related. Does anyone know if their are oversized "standard" style putter grips? I mostly only see Super Stroke, Winn Pistol, and Tour SNSR as far as oversized grips are concerned. I seem to be able to "feel" the putterhead better with a more standard sized grip, but feel as if my huge hands need a little more to hang onto.

Thanks.

I think the answer to your first question is...it depends.  If you can find someone who grips with air, you could have them changed and give it a try.  If you don't like it, you can blow them off, remove the build-up tape, and go back to the original size.  Of course you can do this with the old way of attaching grips, but you'll probably ruin the grips if you have to remove them.

For a putter grip, I've used this one from GolfPride for a while.  Its a little oversize, but not as big as the Super Stroke grips, and more traditionally shaped.:

I'm sure there are other options, I just haven't looked for them.

A few putter grip suggestions - Lamkin has a white deep-etched that are more of a mid-size.  There are also some Tiger Shark Ultra-Tacs that's aren't super jumbo.

I would and do. I'm between standard and midsize and I make all my grips the same size.

Should you switch to +1/8? Sounds as if you should be trying mid-size so as not to get a better fit and not use a lot of tape.

Putter Grips - the idea is to quiet your hands if they are over-active. Go to a PGAT Super Store, and they usually have putters with all types of grips - find one that is comfortable and quiets the hands during the stroke, if that is what you need/want.

I was actually fit for +1/8" with my irons... Last year my fitter recommended actually going a little bigger than even that...(A Jumbo Grip with one more wrap)... But we messed with it and found it had no effect on anything.

My grips only have the standard layer of tape on them... They are Jumbo in my irons and Mid-size in the woods... I would get 3 jumbo grips installed.

Look at ball flight in your woods - if you like it, don't change. There is traditional thought that larger grip, less quick release, smaller grip than you need results in a quicker release.

As to putter grip, I basically went around the store looking at various different grips and trying them out - Rosemark, Superstroke, Lamkin, et al.

All of mine are 3/16 larger. I replaced my irons first after being fit for larger grips than standard. The next year hybrids,  the next wedges an putter. last year was a driver.   The fitter recommended same size each time. It does feel better now.
