Hi. I want to learn to drive as a Lefty. Not only am I a Righty; im heavily right-sided, and I want to drive as a lefty to improve my balance. Im in my late 20s with a mature body, and dont want serious injury. With proper nutrition and care: How soon could a major-righty expect to T-off, as a lefty, with some power? Regards,

I've been carrying a left-handed niblick, off and on, for a couple of years.  I use it at the range and while warming up.  Every once, in a great while, it comes in (left) handy out on the course.  Mostly, it's a training aid.  I figure that learning to make a decent pass, from the other side, must have some benefit.  And it doesn't take long to get a lot better...especially with a shorter club.

In der bag:
Cleveland Hi-Bore driver, Maltby 5 wood, Maltby hybrid, Maltby irons and wedges (23 to 50) Vokey 59/07, Cleveland Niblick (LH-42), and a Maltby mallet putter.                                                                                                                                                 "When the going gets tough...it's tough to get going."

Ive thought about this myself. I am left handed in everything i do except golf. I throw, kick, write with my left side.

The first clubs i ever used were right handed. Im not bad right handed and it feels normal now but sometimes i wonder if itd be worth it to try out a driver left handed.

I would practice in front of a mirror and work on replicating your right handed swing. I'm a bit older than you, but I have hit my wife's lefty driver. I do notice that I am less flexible that way as well. I am somewhat ambidextrous though, so it wasn't that hard for me.

Maybe try doing some things lefty? Go to a batting cage and take lefty swings. Get a cheapo used lefty putter. Weight train your left side more than your right.

I doubt any of those will have actual effects, but it'll be fun to hear about your progress. ;-)

It definitely helps to get the word out there for a sense of perspective. I cant truly explain why lefty-driving is satisfying. After re-reading I made plans for coaching from a senior player, though I may have to settle for what I get. I wouldnt recommend go full righty any other way; you guys probably have the right idea,

The tradeoff is in nutrition vs power, or alkali's relaxing your colon versus muscle mass from conventional protein.
