Day 16:12/12/2023

I got some nice work in at the outdoor range today.

Worked on a thing where I slide my rib up a wall. ... Well, not literally. ...

Got some nice work in with my wedges as well.

I still plan to do my overspeed training tonight.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 407, December 12, 2023

Practiced for 30 minutes or so. Backswing, mostly, with a little tiny bit of slow downswing stuff just to layer it in. But 90% of the attention was backswing, and it got a lot of rehearsals.

Day 4 (13 Dec 23) - Easy swings with the 7i today.  Worked on tempo and wrapped up with purposed shot shaping using hard foam balls.  Hitting from across the way, I can use the tulip tree as a target to go around or over.  Worked on shaping a fade, a draw and straight shot around and over the tree.

Day 408, December 13, 2023

30 minutes downtown doing a lot of backswing work but mixing in the dash of downswing work. Hit more 9I than 6I today, I think, or very close to it.

Day 17: 12/13/2023:

Did my overspeed training first thing this morning. Forgot to do it yesterday. ... oops.

Then on lunch I swung by the outdoor range and worked on some stuff. Mostly my piece where I slide my rib up a wall. But also dropping my rear and pushing it away in the downswing.

I finished by hitting some targets with wedges.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

    • So, my league starts next week, and I have a golf trip in two weeks. I am thinking no matter what I do, I will have to do my left leg and downswing turning piece. At least this turning piece helps me negate shanking the shot.  I probably shanked the foam ball about 10x in a row yesterday. Given, I was doing downswing work with not much caring about the body rotation. I was struggling to feel the same thing from two days ago. Where I was able to feel the arm piece and the turning piece working together. Yesterday, my body turn was just destroying my arms down piece.  That said, it’s not like I have a great feel for where the club is in space. Especially with how fast the downswing is. If I do the arms downswing piece with the turn piece better. I just feel those two things. Then after I am going into the finish I am like, "Oh, that was center of the clubface". I am glad the clubface found the ball. Maybe that is normal when you are trying to fix your mechanics. You are so hyper focused on the hitting the swing feel that the feel for the club is just gone.  I’ve watched YouTube videos where they talk about how correct lower-body mechanics give you the feeling of having tons of time in the downswing. I’m like, BS! there is no time. If anything, it feels faster now. 🤣 I do notice that the clubface stays more open past impact, less flippy. Not like I am trying to do that. Actually, with the downswing arm piece, I am trying to feel like I am rolling my wrist (closing the club a bit more).
    • Well, if any one cares, this has been very successful in Cricket. It is full 3D and has drastically reduced wrong calls. There are still instances that the umpire's original decision is upheld if marginal. People rolled their eyes at first but now almost everyone with it.
    • Jason Day had 1 wild Masters outfit rejected, still raising eyebrows Despite having one planned Masters outfit rejected for the 2026 event, Jason Day's apparel is still raising eyebrows at Augusta National. The pants + jacket is a bit much. I don't mind the vest. It is fine.  August is really stuffy in that way; their entire enterprise is based on image control. I am not shocked.  Don't you dare wear your hat backwards 🤣
